Avid Message Board Readers:

I'm working on a new message board system. Obviously one message board for all posts doesn't work good at all with the volume of posts that we're getting. I'm going to be doing two things.

1.) Each post on the home page will have a section for comments about the post (slash.org style)

2.) I'm going to make specific boards for each topic (i.e. Sports, Tech Sucks, General shout outs)

I'm looking for some suggestions for what those topics should be. E-mail Me your thoughts. Don't post them on here b/c they'll probably get lost with all the other posts on the board.

So let me get this straight, tennessee loses to an unranked team, they drop 7 spots, we lose to the number 3 team in the country, and we drop 6 6 spots? Just doesnt make any sense to me, because technically the number 5 team should lose to the number 3 team by a very close margin, and thats basically what happened. I would have thought we would have dropped down to 8 or 10. But ok... I mean hell, when k st lost to ou they dropped 3 spots.

I started the Towely comments, but I didn't write all of them, so I think it was a team effort. Damn, that is a funny episode. Ok, I'm gonna go play my Okama Gamesphere. If I stay up all night I can play for 8 hours and then go to class.

OKAMAAAAAA Game Sphere!

Wow, a bad weekend for yours truly ...

Penn State got shutout, and Iowa didn't fare any better. A&M beat the mighty, mighty baylor bears by 6. And then there's that one game in Dallas ... my thoughts are ...

OU's linebackers played out their ass. They completely shut down UT's running game in the first 10 minutes of the first quarter, and allowed the OU DB's (spectacular unit, BTW) to sit back and terrorize Chris Simms. Chris Simms. Holy crap. The last play doesn't bother me at all - that was the RB's fault. However, the other three interceptions were his fault. The first pick, and the pick in then endzone SHOULD have been touchdowns - watch the tape - both balls were underthrown by AT LEAST 7 yards. Pathetic. The pick in the middle of the field towards the end of the game should also have been completed - all Chris had to do was elevate the ball over the DB, and Roy had about a 4 yard seam, plus he's eight feet tall.
I think that UT's and OU's defenses are both in the top-5 in the nation. I think Jason White did a fantastic job not fucking shit up - he just ran the offense and didn't force anything (nice scrambling).
Bottom line - OU made the only really great play of the day - the field goal block in the first quarter. And that made all the difference, since UT then had to be gunning for the end zone, since we were down 4, not 1. Mad props to OU for being opportunistic. Just don't go out and lose a chump game, ok?

Well, an apostrophe typically is in the place of a letter or letters. That would make "y'all" the correct spelling.

I spell it "ya'll" as well... however, I picked up the word while growing up in New Orleans, so perhaps it's a location thing.

What if I use it for the phrase "ya all" ;)

As far as the comparison... Last I checked a cat was a domesticated animal. Taught to trust humans. And not only did they kill it, they shot it... And not only did they shoot it, they skinned it. I don't think you have much of a point there.

I could care less how high you guys are ranked in table tennis... Or even in football... When you can say you consitently beat us in any of the 3 major sports, you can talk. We consistently beat you guys in football. Baseball and basketball are generally a toss-up between us two year in and year out.

As far as "ya'll" being in the dictionary... If you live in Texas, and you are questioning someone's use of the term "ya'll", you got some major issues.

Damn had to scroll back a page to read everything posted since Friday.
Anyways, the real reason for the post. Yet again another 365 days of bragging rights. My prediction of OU by 7 was down by 4, but still a good game. Should have been 20-3 but Tin Duncan (kicker) can't seem to aim with his foot anymore. Too many 3 and outs for both teams but still proved interesting.
I was in the west end friday night. An older UT gentleman was next to me and said, "Hope the UT wins, but please make sure your guys hurt Simms pretty badly." All I could do was laugh. And instead damn Hybl and his left shoulder. They still aren't sure how long he'll be out. Should prove interesting with Nebraska in 2 weeks.
And by the way what the hell happened to A&M?!?! I know you guys are a 2nd half team, but still only beating the last place team in the Big 12 by 6. Someone should be shot.
The thing is what happened to KSU? 2 losses in a row can't be good for Snyder. Oh well we'll see how things go next weekend.

Ok, it seems the AP voters actually watched this weekend's games. A&M went down one spot from 24 to 25 after a very unimpressive game against Baylor. Colorado jumped into the poll to number 20 with a win over Kansas State.
