awww- i am afraid of the "Baylor Raping"- but everybody knows it's going to happen- and I want to see it happen so I am coming up for the game but my friend "forgot" to get extra sport passes so does anyone out there have one so I don't have to pay the 35 bucks?

A&M rapes Baylor
A&M wears down a depleted, and yes I mean a very injury-filled depleted CU team
A&M plays with KSU but KSU remembers '98 and '00 and gets us for once... KSU by 13
A&M runs past ISU (they aren't that good)
Farris throws for 300 and Farmer runs for 120 in a decisive win over Tech (their defense sucks)
OU hands our asses to us
10-0 UT comes in flying high at #2 and leaves with yet more dashed hopes at a national championship
9-2.... now this is all with us not losing anyone else to injuries!! lets hope

Not sure who the starting QB is for OU this weekend. Seems Hybl got hit harder than it looked. Cracked a couple ribs. He might be able to start, but it might have to go to the backup Jason White. Scary thought considering UT is out for blood from the pummeling they recieved last year. Still should be a great game.

I am not saying that we are going to pull off any miracles this year, but if we beat the teams we should, we will finish 8-3. Yes, we have lost in Lubbock the last three times, but I think this year is a good year to turn that around. As far as playing in Boulder, the only time we beat CU was in Boulder in '97. Their stadium is just slightly bigger than Floyd Casey, and so I wouldn't consider that our toughest road game. I agree that we should get raped in Manhattan and Norman, and UT at home won't be any easier. Still, 8-3 is very plausible.

Can we group those same unknowledgable Baylor fans with the unknowledgable A&M fans that think a 4-0 (hell even 5-0) start will be the beginning of a great season? In reality, we will finish 7-4 if we don't take Iowa State likely... Probably 6-5... Colorado in Boulder? Ouch. @ KState? Fat chance. Tech in Lubbock? You know the history on that one. Oklahoma in Norman? A laugher. Heck, out of all the "tough" games we have, I think our best chance is beating Texas here at home.

Just a reminder to us what kind of people go to a second rate "educational institution" such as Lubbock Community College.

Has anyone here in Austin noticed the 2 huge spraypainted red and black 'TT' emblems on the stairs up to the tower from east mall (between Garrison and Hogg). What the hell is that?!? To the 'artists' of the lovley signs, bravo. You have just further proved what we have said all along about the calibur students at LCC. You are a bunch of stuck-in high school-mentaility, live in a town that stinks, think you have a good football team, think you are the rival of EVERYONE that matters in the Big 12, couldn't get into a real college morons.

Of course, I bet there are a few unknowledgeable Baylor football fans who think a 2-0 start will be the beginning of a great season. In reality, they will finish 3-8 with a nice 8 game losing streak in the middle of their season.

Dear God, you are kidding me. That's like picking Baylor for Big 12 South Champs after starting 2-0. Or especially Tech.

Yeah, I actually heard a girl behind me at the Notre Dame game say, "Farris for Heisman." That is when I responded with "Slow down."

Picks for this coming week of college football ...
Texas / OU - Texas by 5. We'll talk later
A&M / Baylor - A&M by 24, or the point spread plus 3, whichever is greater. Calls go out, "Farris for Heisman".
ISU / Neb - Nebraska by 10 - ISU is better than you think, but not good enough
A couple of free ones, if you care.
Taking PennSt over Michigan and Iowa over Purdue. You heard it here first.
Thank you. I will be here all of the week.

Hey did y'all hear about that plane crash in College Station on Sunday afternoon? I was on my way back to Austin and saw the thing sitting at the corner of 2818 and University. Seemed like an odd place for a twin-engine plane. You can read about it at http://www.theeagle.com/region/localregional/100101planecrash.htm

After a lengthy, and I must say, tiring discussion about the merits of our respective football teams this afternoon with Kurt, I would like to pose this question to ya'll.
If Notre Dame played North Carolina this coming up Saturday, who would win?

Yes... I can remember many a year where Notre Dame made it to a bowl with only 6 wins... Oh the beauty of marketable teams.

I thought it was 7 games to be bowl elgible....i was thinking loss to KSU and OU and possibly pulling out the win at home to Texas....since the matchup can go either way depending on where it is played.

Well, all you have to do is win 6 games to be bowl eligible. We will be one game from that after we tear Baylor a new one this Saturday. If we just win the games we are supposed to, we will finish the season 8-3. This would include losses to KSU and OU on the road and a loss to Texas at home(Yes, we will be favored to lose to Texas). Of course, two of those teams are currently in the top 5 and have legitiment national title hopes. We just need to concentrate on getting some payback on Colorago and not looking like asses and losing in Lubbock again.

I just hope we can pull out a win in either the OU game or the KSU game so we can get to a bowl. I'm having doubts about both games, with each one not being played at Kyle Field. Just going to keep the fingers crossed....and yes, please feel free to tell me that they are going to get raped because it is a definite possibility.
p.s. Damn You Betik, I don't know all the carpool people by name (except I knew the driver)....I was sober but without a car. :)

Actually I beg to differ when you say the A&M win over Notre Dame was not a decisive win because ND came into the game 0-2. While everyone knew UT would whip LCC like a red-headed stepchild, the outcome of the A&M-ND game was pretty uncertain. Considering that ND had played Nebraska and Michigan State, it's not surprising they were 0-2. Texas A&M was the first supposedly "weaker" team that ND had played this season, and A&M simply dominated ND the entire game. I mean, ND was running out of quarterbacks for the Aggies to pummel on. Now, I will admit that the receivers for Notre Dame blow harder than a porn star on a European vacation, but you can't look past the solid performance of the Wrecking Crew and the execution of the offense throughout the game (except, of course, the last half of the 4th quarter when the Ags were just killing the clock).
Moreover, everyone had been criticizing the Aggie football team up until now for their weak offense and their lackluster performances against teams like McNeese and Wyoming. I think this game will prove to be the turning point in what could have been a shitty season for A&M. The Aggies have been consistently beaten by Notre Dame in numerous Cotton Bowls in the 90s and in the season opener in 2000. To turn around and dominate Notre Dame and hand them their first EVER 0-3 start is pretty decisive to me. Davies better start typing up his resume.
