How much do you want to bet that there'll be an investigation into the SG election results?

Uh, when Osama bin Laden calls someone an infidel, it's pretty safe to assume he wants him dead.

I didn't say Saddam ONLY supported Palestinian terrorism. I said it is his only PROVEN support of terrorism. If you want to start inferring support for anti-American terrorists, maybe we should start with Saudi Arabia. After all, 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis...not to mention it was the breeding ground of Osama himself. So why aren't we overthrowing Saudi Arabia and forcing democracy down their throats? After all, 15 of 19 is a bigger link than 0 of 19 (yes, none were Iraqi).

Oh yeah...their leader didn't try to kill our President's dad. And they sell us all that oil!

I never argued Al-Qaeda support. I admitted the lack of proven Al-Qaeda links. I argued that Saddam supports anti-American terrorism support. And I said that Osama urged the Iraqi people to fight the Americans and back the "legitimate Muslim government of the Arab people."

You said that Iraq only supported anti-Israel terrorists groups. You're wrong.

You said that Osama said that Saddam should be killed. Also wrong.

Ringing endorsement? Not exactly. If bin Laden in any way supports Saddam, it is begrudgingly at best.

"...intelligence analysts inside and outside the Government said bin Laden went out of his way in the recording to show his contempt for Mr. Saddam and his Baath Party regime, whom he referred to as 'infidels' and one of several 'infidel regimes'...'From what is known so far we don't think we can conclude that there is evidence of an axis or close link,' said spokesman Thomas Steg." -- http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/02/13/1044927739629.html

The ONE thing you are entirely correct on is that no proven link between Saddam and Al-Queda.

Wrong my friend.

Osama says that Iraqis should rise up against American imperialists and he backed the "legitimate Muslim government of the Arab people" of Iraq. It was a ringing endorsement that the Defense Department has been harping on for the past week.

And Hussein provides funds to both Hamas, Palestinain Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah ALL of which profess a desire to carry out terror attacks against the United States of America. PIJ has even threatened the US with terror attacks if the US invades Iraq.

On a funnier note, here is an IM exchange between me and friend:

FRIEND: Q: What is a Frenchman with a sheep and a goat under each arm?
A: Bisexual.
ME: hahaha
ME: excellent quote
FRIEND: Q: Where do you find 60 million French jokes?
A: In France.
FRIEND: Q: Why does the new French Navy have glass-bottom boats?
A: So they can see the old French Navy....

ME: Would you like to buy a French rifle? Never been shot and only dropped once.
FRIEND: Q: How can you recognize a French veteran?
A: Sunburned armpits.
ME: Q: How many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris?
A: No one knows. It's never been tried.
FRIEND: You are the President of the United States. Scientists have discovered a meteor that is headed towards the earth. They have calculated that it will strike France in 2 days, at approximately 2:30 A.M. The meteor is
large enough to completely wipe France from the face of the earth forever. France and the United Nations have requested that the United States send all available ships and aircraft to help evacuate the country. Among the ships and planes you could be sending are many that are being used to fight the war on terror overseas. As the President, you must decide: Doyou stay up late on the night of the impact to watch the coverage live, or tape it and watch it in the morning?

If you wanted to argue that Iraq provides funds to anti-Israel terrorist groups, you might have a valid argument, because Saddam pays off the families of Hamas suicide bombers. However, there still isn't any solid evidence that Saddam funds Al Qaeda. In fact, Osama bin Laden said Saddam should be killed because he does not practice the Osama bin Laden brand of Insane Islam.

Nation building in Kosovo and Somolia vs. nation building in a country which provides funds to anit-American terrorist groups.

Yeah, it's totally the same thing.

Hey UT students...

Do we all get RecSports memberships included in our tuition and fees? I need to rent rock climbing shoes from RecSports and it says you need a current RecSports membership...I was wondering if we all got automatic memberships or if it's something separate you need to buy.

Yeah my hotmail has been fucking up massively lately. I run it through Outlook too, but it keeps going offline, sucks bc then the send/receive process gets frozen at that point. Anyways, in going with this trend of super fun political quotes on the board, I offer the following:
"France is like an aging actress of the 1940's. She's still dining out on her looks, but doesn't have the face for it."
-John McCain

When the cold waters of death chill my feet, two things will come to mind.... I wish I hadn't done that, and I can't believe that one time on Feb. 27, 2003 when I was still wasted at 11:24 in the morning. That is impressive!
