I'm not in any way knowledgeble in agriculture, but I happen to be an advertising major. More importantly, I happen to posess a transcript of a Stan Richards interview in which he discusses the cows. The Richards Group is the ad agency that handles the Chick Fil A account--located in Dallas. Basically:

"The cows are exceedinly likeable. They are rebellious and mischievious. And yet they are cows. Interestingly, they are Holstein cows and Holstein cows are not used for beef, but nonetheless that's the kind of cow we chose to use."

So yeah--they're dairy cows, but I guess they're cuter cows than beef cattle. It's one of the most successful ad campaigns of all time, so I guess people don't really care about the discrepancy.

Sorry for confusing you before. The mascot tells us to "eat mor chickin." (I wrote "more" before).

Does anybody know much about livestock? I was just wondering if the mascot for Chic-fil-a is really a dairy cattle. I was thinking that it was. So why would the mascot that can't spell want us to "eat more chikin." Will we not drink as much of its milk if we eat chicken? And it doesn't like us milking its udder? Can somebody that has an agriculture background please fill me in?

Tuition deregulation is a sham. They're making it sound like it's based on the free market idea of letting supply and demand set the tuition price, but in reality what I think they're planning on doing is making it virtually free to attend school if your family makes less than $40,000 a year, and everyone else has to shoulder the burden through higher tuition.

If tuition deregulation passes, UT has already said it plans to raise tuition by 30%. That's on top of the tuition hike we suffered last year and this year.

Isn't it great? Our universities mismanage funds and engage in wasteful spending, but we have to suffer for it.

Holy Crap. I just read about the pending tuition & fees increase for UT. Going from $3,950 a year average to $4,819 a year average (Residents only). That would make UT the second most expensive school in the Big 12 (behind Missori and ahead of A&M). The increase in Non-residents would put them 4th in Big 12. Why such an increase?

Or does it cost so much more to police all the protests, so they had to get the money somewhere?
