Speaking of the UH football stands, I've got a question to pose to the board ...
Do people really think that UT was whining about the seats? We were guaranteed 10,000 tickets, which is roughly a third of that stadium. We were well aware that almost 8,000 of those seats were bleacher seats that had been constructed for the sole purpose of holding us visitors. We asked the University of Houston to inspect said bleachers THREE WEEKS BEFORE GAMETIME. However, the president of the university chose to do that inspection three DAYS before the game. Of course the stands were found faulty (I'd bet three in four temporary structures at ANY stadium are also faulty), but now, there wasn't time to replace them. Those 4,000+ seats were simply done away with. Now, were Texas fans offered a refund? Yep, but they had to go through the UT ticket office. Was the University of Texas informed that the stands were declared bad and that they had 4,000 fans on the way to claim refunds? Nope. Deloss Dodds found out about the fiasco on the damn 6 o'clock news. Was any attempt made to move the game to Rice Stadium to HONOR THE CONTRACT SIGNED BY UH THREE YEARS EARLIER? Nope. So, fuck Houston. Fuck the commuter high school in the fucking third ward (fourth? who knows?) of the ghetto in downtown Htown. Bring them here next year, we'll beat them again by 35+, and no top-10 team will ever visit there again. You've dug your own grave, Cooga high.

Hey, as far as I know, A&M didn't beg and plead to be the subject of "Sidelines"...apparently someone at ESPN thinks it'll make good TV. Hell, I watched the HBO series on the preseason with the Baltimore Ravens. Now, I could give two shits about the Ravens, but it had to do with football and it was an interesting glimpse behind the scenes, so it got my attention. And Raven fans weren't the only ones who watched it.
You'd be surprised how many different personality types are at A&M. It's not all Bible-beaters and cowboys, and anyone who thinks that is plain stupid. That's like me saying all Longhorns are pot-smoking hippies. Sure, there are a few...maybe even a few thousand...but for the most part if you put 50 Aggies and 50 Longhorns in a room you'd have a hard time telling them apart based on looks (and even personality) alone. If you are confused as to why A&M is being featured in a docu-drama by a major sports network, take it up with the network. Don't degrade the school though and predict that the show will suck. If "Sidelines" does indeed flop, then a few producers will get fired from ESPN and you can give yourself a big pat on the back.
