Please do continue Miss Thang, because you've listed great reasons, and some of those places might be better than the places here, but you still do the same thing there that you do here. If you don't have 6th St. you have something else. And there are plenty of places to eat here that aren't chains! That's just ridiculous. And you live in the capitol city? BIG FUCKING WHOOP! What does that do for you? Does it empower you to know that you live where all the greedy politicians are? Well, scratch my back and call me Sally McGee! NANU, NANU as Robin Williams so eloquently put it on Mork & Mindy. NANU NANU!

Should I continue?

True, there's not much in Lubbock, but there is some stuff. Mackenzie Park is very nice with two golf courses, frisbee golf, and some ponds. Then there's Buffalo Springs and Ransom Canyon which are nice areas to go to and hang out. We have our Omni theater, our museum which had the Vatican exhibit, and of course, the Depot District which has some nice bars.

And as far as there being nothing to do in Lubbock as a point...well, what the hell do you do in Austin or College Station? I mean, what is there to do there that you couldn't do here? Do you go on life altering adventures everyday? I don't think so. I know plenty of people in Austin and a couple in C.S. that do pretty much the same thing we do out here. Go to class, go to work, and otherwise just sit around and relax with Around the Horn and PTI. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT TO DO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! And to address the shit smell...yes, it happens, but to be honest, I haven't smelled it in a long time. And when it does happen, it doesn't take but a few moments to get over it. Your nose will adapt. That is all.

Arlington has more than 300,000 people, and I find that place boring as hell. Trust me--Lubbock's got nothing to offer that tops anything A-town has, and I avoid that place like the plague now.

And Josh, I agree with you... wow. Those were some nasty looking boobs.

Nothing here? What the hell are you talking about?
Lubbock has more than 200,000 people.. there is stuff here.

Where exactly did you go? Around the loop? Unless you go to the SW corner, no, it's empty, because it goes a long ways outside of town. Everything else is packed in like any other city. You're blind if you can't see that.

There's nothing there. I've spent a lot of time places other than the stadium, and there's nothing there. Couple that with the fact that the place smells like shit, and you've got a place most people don't want to explore further.

"five minutes of walking around Lubbock to admit that some parts of Texas really sucked"
Maybe if you'd give it a chance, you'd see how wrong you are.
It seems that many people drive or fly in and go straight to the stadium and straight back out, which has been one of the less desirable areas of town. Now when you go to the stadium, there's nothing to the east of it, but that's because they're building an entire new area. Maybe if you'd get your head out of your ass and try to see what else there is, you wouldn't be so damn negative.

I've seen snow in Arlington, and snow and ice that posed a legit reason for closing schools in VA Beach.

Coming from the blistery weather of North Central Texas, I can say that I've seen snow at least a few times in Arlington. If I saw sleet in CS, I'd be surprised.

We did have snow last night in Austin...around 3:15am or so, I went outside and it was coming down in big, puffy flakes and sticking to cars. It's nice, as long as you don't have to drive in it or shovel it.

Give the poor man a break. Most Texans don't know what snow even looks like. It took living in Amarillo for five years for me to finally admit that sleet wasn't snow. It also took me five minutes of walking around Lubbock to admit that some parts of Texas really sucked.

I just looked at my friend who lives half a block away's away message, and it says "It's snowing!". I ran outside like an idiot, and it's sleeting. My friend is officially smoking crack.

as i said, i think that ranking classes is basically guesswork, but rivals and fox sports both have a&m ranked in the top 10 and texas not. not saying that's correct or even close, but some are actually saying that besides just aggie fans.

Uhhh... I don't know which Cotton Bowl game I was at, but it looked pretty damn packed to me.

Brian said "but to say that A&M's class is 5th in the Big 12 is absurd. We are a solid 2nd tied with Texas "
Brian... I didn't say that... but it seems that NOBODY would rank A&M's class as high as UT's. Except for aggsies, of course.

btw: we didn't have a 7-5 season... and if I remember right, UT couldn't even sell out their IN-STATE bowl game.
No ags can talk about bowl ticket sales, cuz they couldn't sell a damn one... lol

seriously, these girls may have been from B/cs (i cant emphasize the B enough) but those t-ball sloots dont even look like theyve seen a college, let alone attend one.

Man, there are so many hot girls in CS, and yet none of them went to GGW last night. It's gonna CS look bad when people buy the DVD.

i never said it did anything for me... just an event that needed to be documented... and for those people that thought it was a handful of people... the place was packed with males and females... and the females doing the flashing were all from cs except 3 that were from southwest... as far a i know.... few pics show the crowd because i cropped the images...

I saw the GGW pics on whatisplanb.com. Uh, all I have to say is that it looks like there was no cover charge if you lived in a trailer park. I would pay to NOT see them topless.

I don't want to hear about academics. Less than 60% of the UT football program graduates. So don't blow sunshine up people's asses with your propaganda.

And, I'm sorry. "The all have heart and determination" is just the stupidest thing I ever heard.

hmmmmm...Girls Gone Wild just doesn't do it for me.

I know several girls who are members of the aforementioned organizations, and I can tell you that they would not have joined if sexual favors were part of the job description.
