Hey Ricky Cates, I may be showing my gullible side here, but if you are a storm chaser in Oklahoma then I was wondering if you know Les Showell...he's my uncle and is a professional storm chaser. Just wondering...in the meantime, I love Bill Cowher.

If only they were storm chasers and live good lifes they would not do this stuff. Lets face it not one single storm chaser has done any drugs since the good hobbie became famious

I don't condone Mr. Cates's posts about Vietnam flashbacks or anything of that matter because my uncle was in Nam and came back fucked up from it. However I do think he's kind of funny...I mean come on...doo doo? do do head? That's funny! Once again, people just taking things too seriously.

Ummmm Mr. Webmaster, I thought we banned this Storm Idiot. Yet he's still here. I'm having Jolie flashbacks. One question: How Come?

I mean the grammar and poor excuses for insults are one thing, but referring to himself in the third person of "a storm chaser" is absolutely ridiculous.

I had always thought you were just some kid, or maybe an idiot with a lot of time to waste... when you start throwing lines like that, it shows you're not... you are an ASSHOLE.

Alright, I'm sticking up for my dad--he's one of the coolest people I know, and you'd be so lucky as to know him. He's a retired Marine Corps Major, helicopter pilot who fought in Greneda and Beruit, was one of a grand total of 3/year selected from the helicopter pilots in the Corps for test pilot school, he holds 2 degrees--one in mechanical engineering, one in math, both from UT, and probably has more knowledge in his pinky than you do in your entire body. Maybe even his pinky fingernail. You can insult a lot of things--my school, myself, etc., but don't ever say something about my dad. When you've been shot at while flying a helicopter in battle, then you can insult him. Until then, fuck off.

A smart man? don,t make me laugh do do heads! I think he just might be a walking media man with a screw loose! A smart thing for him to do,,,,,,geeeeee glad this an,t my dad, my dad is much smarter,,,,,,,,,

Kelly - your dad is a smart man. I kept most of my upper division books, but I wish I'd kept them all. I'm actually finding things that I could reference in them these days. And the math books were always the most expensive - math, and logic - my algorithms book cost almost $160.

You guys goto the big universities and are getting hosed, I'm still at a community college right now and paying more in books than I paid in tuition. 3 classes, 10 hours, $301.00. 4 Books (one is a supplemental) $320 (give or take the change). Of course those are the bookstore prices. But since most of you know I dwell in the virtual world of Ebay, So far I've spent less than $100 for 3 of those books.

I just shelled out $370 for 3 books (one new, it's one of those "bundles"), a workbook, a lab manual, and a CD. It's still not as bad as last semester--$550--but it's still a lot. The problem is that I really can't sell books back anymore, since they have to do with my major and I want to hold onto them. Josh, my dad told me that engineering books have always been ridiculous in comparison to other books when I called him complaining--he still has all of his. We won't discuss how much he paid for his math books the first time he went through UT for the degree in math he never did anything with.

However, I made a quick $70 while I was grabbing my marketing book--made a deal to sell my MIS crap from Cleveland's class (she's not changing editions since she has like 300 people signed up for the class altogether) to a girl on Monday. That, and I don't think the person who had my mktg. book before ever even opened it. It looks brand new.

Bluto ®  - UT Austin

My point was not the total amount I spent, my point was that the average cost per book was nearly $80. It is just ludicrous to me that 600 sheets of paper with words typed on them is worth $80-$100, even factoring in the royalities.

Friday Jan 10th 11:31am
Julie  - UT Austin

My books usually ran about $600-$700 a semester. I guess they figure they can do that to the engineering majors because they will probably some day have money...it sucks.
