Well when OU plants UT horns in the field next season in Big D and then T+1 playing in Aggieland against the Fran team who had a good 9 games to prepare and get themselves together, the UT high and mighty will be calling for Mack to step down. Next season will be interesting with no Simms, Hybl, or Kingsbury.

That, and since Simms has never won a big game in his life, that must mean that the Ag's are shit. Which I'm strangely ok with, seeing as how the "failure" Chris Simms led his team to three 10 win seasons (two of them 11-win), back to back top-10 year-ending ranking, and along with his fellow senior Cory Redding, led the Longhorns back to the stage of national prominence. There are very few teams with a legit claim at a SHOT at the MNC each year ... it's been a long time since UT was even in that group. So you ag's keep on bitching about how bad a QB Simms was, and we'll keep on wondering if you'll ever win 10 games again.

Just because it was the Cotton Bowl doesn't make it a big game. The Cotton Bowl hasn't been a big game since the SWC disbanded. I'm not a Texas basher, never have been... My money was on Texas -10.5 to win easy, because I still think they are a Top 5 team TALENT-WISE. But for you horn fans to start saying that beating a *maybe* Top 25 team that lost 4 games with an average schedule with a terrible passing QB to boot is a "big game/win" is really stretching it. Face it, no matter how you slice it, no matter what the Statesman tells you, and no matter how Musberger might want you to believe -- Chris Simms always choked in the big games. 15 INTs and 0 TDs against Top 5 opponents isn't just a meaningless stat we pick on, it says a lot. Chris Simms won a lot of games at Texas, and dominated a lot of teams he should have -- which is more than most college QBs can say -- but the cold hard fact is that he did not win a big game in his 4 years at Texas -- which is why your team which has talent second only to Miami -- has never been playing for the big one come January the last four years.

LSU was a good win, probably your best of the season, except for maybe A&M, but even that was at home. Try pulling off more than one big win in the season, then you can talk shit about someone else. Until then, keep your overrated ass in the cellar.

UT's win over LSU was a big win considering their recent luck when they play in Dallas. The game would've been a lot more enjoyable if the LSU wideouts actually caught the few balls that Randall threw accurately in the second half.

On the flip side, Tera-Hybl looked quite good in the Rose Bowl. That's a kid that I admire - loses his job on national TV against Texas, then comes back when that player gets hurt and BEATS Texas on national TV, and then leads his team to a Rose Bowl victory. All without being the fastest or strongest anything. Good win for the Big 12, and a good win for Hybl. Bob Stoops can still suck it.

OU, A&M, Tech and all you UT satellite schools -- this must be the saddest day of your lives because your whipping boy Simms has left (as a winner I might add). Next year, you won't be saying jack about Vincent Young.

Hey Ashley, the entire UT offense and defense handed us our asses this year, not just Prissy Simms. If you surround Prissy with mediocre talent (like, say, a crappy NFL team with a high draft pick) then he is nothing special.

Again I'm sorry Ashley but making a 1-4 record in the cotton bowl on his way out of UT does not impact Simms standings with the haters. Yes he won. Yes Roy caught some shitty passes. And the UT D played rather well after the first quarter. And Simms record or standing of not beating a top 10 team remains. Something to consider when he's picked up by the NFL as a backup QB. Since Daddy Simms pull with the NFL is limited Chris will be lucky to see game time anytime in the near future.

ok, heres the thing. Simms sucks, i never liked him, its not personal, i just dont think he is a Texas quality quarterback. It just seems that adding "Phil Simms son" on to his name is the only way to add any credibility to his rep. And now he will probibly get picked up by some idiot in the nfl who is blind to his royal suckage because of his "championship bloodline" or some bullshit. He's not a horse for christsakes. Just think of it this way, Mack probibly could have had anyone he wanted, but he bet on name recognition. Not a good idea when your chasing a championship.

I don't know why I even bother. Wasn't a big game? It was the friggin Cotton Bowl. Simms had to manufacture something when our defense was letting LSU walk down the field like a marching band. And don't even start on their QB. Marcus Randall was trying to pull a Michael Vick yesterday, and he came very close to succeeding. Face it, he won a big game in the Cotton Bowl, and now he's done at Texas so you guys no longer have to worry about having your asses handed to you by him every year.
