Oh, Aggie Amy:
I thin Nissan's comment was directed more towards Texas, but you choose to say that Tech is close minded?
So, people from UT can say it and not be close-minded, but when a Tech fan does, they are?

Grow up.

JD  - Lubbock Community College

Whoah, about the goal post thing... fine, they tore it down... no biggie, they marched around, no biggie... they decide to launch it into the stands, tremendously stupid. And most Tech students will agree with me on that. About the fighting... there were so many rumors spread by people not there and having no idea what really happened, it's crazy. First off, it was an aggie "former student" who threw the first punch, and hit ANOTHER AGGIE. So, when other aggies saw these punches being thrown, you see the aggies running TOWARD the goal post and start slingin' punches... WATCH THE TAPE if you don't believe me, it's perfectly clear.

About Aggies being assholes: Most Aggie "current students" that I know are really cool people. Most Aggie "former students" that I know are really assholes, and that's just personal experience. I know you can say the same about Tech Alumn, or whomever.

About rioting after UT game: Where in the hell were there riots? Other than drunk ass longhorns trying to steal a fire marshal's car?

About "classless" fans: Every school has them, deal with it. You can't deny it, and neither can I. It's a fact and it's not going to change. So, I'm waiting for you to talk about Tech students spray-painting the UT campus... guess what... Aggies did the same thing here. Some areas of campus now have constant security around UT and A&M weekends because of that. Like I said, it's not just Tech.

Am I forgetting anything?

I just think that George Bush should pick Lubbock as the new testing ground for Iraqi-bound nuclear weapons.

And c'mon...Pace...you and Brad, the ambiguously Gay Duo...where have you butt pirates been lately?

Nissan ~
That just shows how immature and closed minded people from tech are.

Aggie Amy...did you read the Mail Call in the Batt, I think on Monday? One letter told about a Texas fan at the game that wore a shirt that said, "What's better than four dead Aggies? A fifth one!" Now, normally, I would find that shirt funny. I think it's similar lawyer jokes like, "What do you have when you have a lawyer standing in cement up to his neck? Not enough cement." Most of us laugh at stupid things like that. But in light of the death of Brandon Fails a few days earilier, something like that is completely inappropriate. I wouldn't want to be that guy and run into a friend or relative of Brandon. I'm sure they would kick my ass from Austin back to under the rock from which I came.

I hope that not all Texas fans are like that.

Also, I find it strange how they (and techies too) call us "homophobes" and "faggies." Has anyone else noticed that?

Kelly you are so right there are shit heads everywhere :o) .. OK back to what I was saying I was there I heard people saying "timber" .. I have never even really heard about the tower shooting that much .. wasnt it over 35 years ago. .. much less anyone making fun of it.
Rivalry is all fun and good .. why else would we be on message board at 12:30 am :) but there are appropriate things to do and very unappropriate things to do.. Making fun of the dead .. and trying to harm people ( TECH 2001) I had a friend ( girl) that got punched for no reason besides the fact that she had a maroon shirt on. I think the people from tech need to grow up.

Everything he said was true. It's not a knock on Tech--if Leach doesn't stick around long enough to continue building their program, that's not the players' fault. And historically, Tech's program is still not of the same caliber as UT and A&M. That's not to say that wouldn't eventually change, but it won't if they're losing the key player on their team, and possibly their head coach.

I know one thing doe doe bird they beat Texas and they lost big time to the highly, higly ranked sooners. Tech has had a bad year and so have you, Tech is not a dean end program and also try to say better things at times. Your messages are like dog do do

I think he views Tech as a lost cause. If you were a coach, would you seriously want to finish out your career at Tech? It is a dead-end program. It will never win a National. It might when a Big XII South every ten years or so, and a Big XII every 15. (Maybe, I'm being kind here). But that's it. It's a stepping stone for Leach to move on to a program that has potential to be something more than a second tier football team.

And I know all the crap that Raiders are gonna spew about beating A&M over and over, and how they beat Texas this season, and yada yada yada, but seriously and objectively view the program as a whole. Have they ever done anything of note in the past 5 years? Ten? This is the best season Tech has had in recent memory and all it is is Big XII South runner-up.

With Kliff gone and Leach looking for a way out, it's gonna be bad for them for a while.

Somehow I can't see him being fired after a season in which Tech beat both Texas and A&M... perhaps he sees Tech as a lost cause next year with Kliffy gone?

I've been hearing stuff about Leach recently also. I heard he has been contacted about jobs at Utah, Wyoming, and Michigan State. So is he being fired or is he leaving?

Sorry about the misquote. I pulled it directly from Hornfans.com I've never heard any Ags say anything about the Tower Shootings. And I've also never heard any Longhorns say anything disrespectful about Bonfire either.

And JD, seriously, your school threw a goalpost into the stands at opposing fans. The student body rioted in Lubbock after you beat Texas. No Raider has any right to criticize other fans for anything EVER. Your school had three NCAA investigations regarding the behavior of your fans last season alone. After K State, after Texas A&M, and after OU.

A&M beats #1 ranked OU, 2002. Nothing happens.
A&M beats #? ranked Texas, 1999. Nothing happens.
Tech beats #10 ranked Texas, 2002. Riots
Tech beats #17 ranked A&M, 2001. Goalpost throwings.

Seriously. You're painfully stupid.

UT fans saying shitty things about Bonfire sucks, but there's a flip side--I've heard many a comment about the Tower shootings, and speaking as someone whose dad was shot at, it's a little irritating... there are classy fans at every school, and there are fans that make you ashamed to cheer for the same school they do. There's no escaping it.

I think by far TECH fans are the worst fans in the world .. I think that may be a main reason this site was created.... They are mean and disrespectful... the majority of people in general that I meet from tech are ass holes .. and for the most part UT fans are OK .. but 2 years ago in Austin there were people yelling "Timmmber " and in my mind making fun of death is about the worst thing in the world to laugh about.. As for Nebraska having great fans I dont deny that .. but the reason they do is because the whole damn state roots for them ( even people who never had a chance of going there) because they have no profesional teams.

Since this is a message board...and there is no better place for an internet rumor...I thought I'd share. I just heard that LCC is calling a press conference tomorrow at 9am to announce that Leach is no longer Head Coach.

Me: We all know that's BS. A&M's fans, in general aren't any better than UT's or Tech's.
Aggies Alumni are the worst about it... they are the most a$$-holeish people I've ever met when it comes to respecting other people's schools. Aggies repect other aggies, and that's it. It doesn't travel far into respecting other people.

Wednesday Dec 4th 6:27pm
headradio ®  - Texas A&M

let's try to be as true to the facts as possible. an article written by al carter said the following:

"Byrne said he found the environment at A&M appealing. He likened the campus to Nebraska and Notre Dame for 'the way people there treat you with respect.'"

Wednesday Dec 4th 5:50pm
Me  - Texas A&M

The new AD at A&M said that in terms of sportsmanship and fan behavior the top three schools were Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M. I hear Texas people are pissed off about that. My question is: Why?

Nobody can argue against the fact that Notre Dame and Nebraska have the classiest fans. That's a given. I guess you can say what you want about Aggies (concerning the beat down of people who try to bum rush Kyle and rip down goalposts) but that door swings both ways; don't try to deface the field (improper action), you won't get beat down(improper RE-action).

However, Longhorns can't get pissed at this statement. When they travel they're certainly not the worst fans (in Austin is another story, they're fucking terrible) but I don't think anybody would argue that they were some of the most respectful in the country.

Just my biased two cents. Let the flaming begin!
