I would much rather have Francione as HC than Slocum. I hope to God the rumors are true. I heard that Fran's contract allows him to get out if he wants...and since 'bama is losing 21 scholarships after this season, he might want to jump ship. Personally, I don't find Simms to be that attractive... and I somehow doubt your sources. Applewhite was always the sentimental favorite with the students, and an argument that the students would have preferred to see him play over Simms when he was not injured has relevance... anything else is trash.

And so far as Simms choking in every big game--
That would mean that the wins over A&M the past few years would negate the games as being "big", thus insulting the worth of the A&M-UT game... and I'd call a win against Nebraska at Nebraska far from choking. Remind me again what other teams can claim that in recent years...

Since you referred to his supposed performances against Washington and OU in 2000, forgive me for not taking your "research" too seriously. As for the '99 A&M game, Chris was a true freshman, making an unplanned start in a very emotional contest, and according to the scoreboard, he wasn't choking too badly. It wasn't until he left the game that the Aggies pulled ahead. Refute that.

I'm not arguing who won or lost. I'm arguing how he played. He sucks. He's blown every big game he ever played. Trent Dilfer won the Super Bowl, do you consider him good? I think not. At least he had the good graces not to blow the big ones that Chris did. And the first game Chris played against A&M he sucked. The third game he played against us, he sucked (regardless of the W). So your assertation that Chris has always "stuck it to A&M" is wrong. And those are the facts. When the chips are down and the pressure is on, he chokes. And he hasn't always "stuck it to A&M." That's my research and those are the facts. Eat it.

Anyone who calls him/herself a football fan should be able to immediately see the faults in that paragraph, but since you don't appear to fall into that category, here we go:

I won't refute how Simms played against A&M last year, but the fact of the matter is that he didn't lose. So if he choked and still won ... well, enough said.

As for the rest of it:

#1 Simms did not play against Washington. Major did. And we won.

#2 Simms has only started against OU twice. The '00 debacle was all Major. The score was 35-0 when Chris came in the game.

#3 Chris's worst game was the Big 12 title game last year, and I won't argue about that either. But you easily forget that he pasted the Buffs earlier in the season, 41-7. So it's not as though he is perpetually unable to win a game against a good team, as evidenced this year after the OU loss.


Go take a look at what happened the last time A&M took on Simms in our house, and then come back and tell me how much he sucks.

You must have Chris Simms confused with Mark Farris, but speaking of Simms, as bad as he has been against Oklahoma, he has always managed to stick it to the Aggies. You can diss the guy if you want, but that is undisputed.
