what the fuck is t&u? I know T&A.

On another sad note, t&u is ranked 5th in the AP Poll, and yet SOME t&u students seem frightened that m&a got 8 whole votes, but isn't even ranked. I think we should only get alarmed if lcc gets a vote.

On another sad note, m&a has reached notre dame like status with the associated press, and managed to receive 8 votes. Just another stat showing how bad the ap ratings are.

OK, enough of being depressed and sad for the moment. lcc has always and will always suck.

OU Guy,
The attack happened at 8 am central time. New York is Eastern time therfore it happened at 9 am there. Also, only an asshole would criticize our President in one of our country's darkest moments. You couldn't do a better job so fuck off.

Although I agree with alot of what has been said. You people are posting alot of mis information. Which I is pretty much ignorance on the most part and can be expected in a time like this.

1. As for the radar warning. The pentagon had about 10-15 minute warning and was able to remove alot of the personel from the area before the plane hit.
2. In the event of a hi-jacking a airline crew is instructed to cooperate with the hi-jackers since in almost all cases the hi-jackers just want to be taken somewhere, and let the plane go. This being a new way of hi-jacking the crews didn't know any better with exeption of the 4th plane.
3. A number of people have called the local news station WBAP AM820 here in dallas. One guy from NY was in the second tower on floor 62. After the first plane hit, the evacuation alarms sounded and he and fellow co-workers were able to exit the building before the second plane hit. Meaning alot more people were able to exit the building than were expected.
4. Many have said on the news that the tourist that visit the WTC have added to the death toll. The observation deck and whatnot doesn't open til 9am. The attacks happened at 8. Again removing alot of people from the death toll.
6. Transatlantic flights were choosen cuz they are full of fuel and became appropriate flying bombs in a way.
5. There is ALOT more I can spout on about, but it's better to just let the dust settle so to speak and get all the facts before rushing off to conclusions. Agree with some others here to let the experts figure it out.

Please explain how, specifically, George W. Bush is acting as a "sock puppet"? He didn't stick his face in front of the cameras yesterday because his own security was of vital importance. Doesn't make much sense to broadcast his location and his intents if the terrorists are watching CNN.

I think he is doing as good a job as anyone could be expected to do in his position. He is juggling about 40 responsibilities right now - search and rescue, investigation, national security, etc etc. I'm glad he denounced this as an act of war, and vowed to retaliate. If we had Bleeding Heart Gore or some other softie liberal in the Oval Office, we'd probably be listening to weak promises for a "fair trial" and due process for the terrorists, instead of the tough and convincing rhetoric that Bush is presenting.

I'm curious as to what is standard operating procedure on airlines in the event of a hijacking. Some reports have come in claiming that flight attendants were stabbed and that bomb threats were made. In this event, does the crew try to save innocent lives and relinquish control... unknowingly setting up this disaster?

Sick.

I agree with the sentiment on the boards, but would like to point out a few things. The '93 WTC car bomb wasn't bin Laden, it was another towelhead terrorist who said he would come back with more money and do it right one day, although they were linked with bin Laden. The problem with retaliation is that the terrorist organizations work in very small cell units and are extremely difficult to track down. bin Laden is known to live in caves and has been running from people for years now. An example needs to be made though, and that's the bottom line. If Afghanistan was wiped from the planet along with all Taliban territory, I wouldn't cheer. But I would have a hard time finding much sympathy.

Personally, I am just glad that it wasn't worse. If bin Laden had had the foresight to somehow add biological weapons into the mix, that cloud of dust and smoke and death would have been much more devastating...

Last thing, I can not believe our President, the sock puppet he is, hasn't said more than he did yesterday.

I think they were smart and told everyone that they would be okay if they just cooperated. Just evil.

Sounds plausible. Especially since the hijackers were only weilding knives. They could easily have been bum rushed on all 4 planes and probably would have been if the passengers had known their fate.

Actually, in regards to the flight that crashed in Pennsylvania...reports are coming in saying a guy made a cell phone call to his wife and told her that he and 2 others were going to rush the cockpit and try to overpower the hijackers. Shortly afterwards, the plane crashes while on a direct heading for Washington, DC. I don't think it was shot down...I think some people tried to overpower the hijackers and the result was a struggle for the controls and a crash.

Three things wrong with the latter quote:
1. Big wars tend to involve some burning in the big cities. That isn't exactly a prophecy.
2. New York City wasn't exactly a big city when that was said.
3. Nostradmus died in 1566.

Yeah, tragedy lets stupid people make associations. If this happened on the anniversary of the first WTC bombing, then that would have possible meaning. The 911 thing and the flight number association(I'd show you, but viewing it makes you dumber) are two of the most awfully weak connections I have ever seen made.

And then we throw in the fun Nostradamus quotes.

Sent to my by a friend...

"In the City of God there will be a great thunder, two brothers torn apart by chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb."

"The third big war will being when the big city is burning."
-Nostradamus, 1654-

As soon as I heard that a fourth plane had crashed but "they didn't know where," I figured it had been shot down as well. It's a very ballsy call considering all the civilians on board, but I think it's justifiable.

Luckily some stewardess was able to get a call out and identify one of the terrorists off the passenger roster before they hit the WTC. Some shit be going down in Florida now because of her. She needs a medal or something.

I agree Kelly. I had never felt murderous rage until I saw grown men and children rejoicing the loss of thousands of American lives. Call me a racist, but I now fucking hate Palestinians.

Hmm, flight attendants with Uzis. Would also cut down on drunk guys committing air rage and complaints about the food.

Thanks Kumquat, i thought i HAD to be missing something... The rep. from Utah (don't remembe rhis name, heard it on the bus home) said that he has confirmations form un-named high ranking CIA officials that it IS bin Laden... warm up the guns boys... i think the only thing that will teach him a lesson is a nuclear war-head up his ass...

There is a rumor going that the fourth plane, which crashed outside of Johnstown, PA, was actually shot down.

Apparently it was headed for Camp David, and not responding to grounding calls or any attempts of communication. There were F 18's headed south at the same time it was headed north.

This would explain why there has been little if any coverage of this crash.

I'm sure the fucking pricks of Palestinians are rejoicing. We're allied with Israel... they love the fact that this has happened. I can't describe how I felt when I saw that. It wasn't a violent rage. More like knowing inside that if I was there I'd kill every last one of them.

Someone tell me why we haven't fucked up Palestine, since I've seen those pictures of people cheering in the streets?

On el al, the flight attendants carry uzis, thats why they havent been hijacked. If anyone is considering buying shares in the petroleum areas, now is the time. Anyways, hello new national holiday, goodbye afghanistan. the most irksome image i have seen so far is the people in east jerulsalem cheering at the news, and thats reason enough for me to start bombing...

I'm wondering why the Pentagon seemed to have no defense against a jetliner heading towards it. The airplane crashed into the Pentagon something like an hour after the ones hit the WTC, and yet there was no heightened defense or anti-aircraft defense deployed at the Pentagon.

I doubt Iran was involved. Iran is anti-Taliban, and as such, they wouldn't want to fuck things up with America (who is also, I believe, anti-Taliban). Palestine seems to have enough worries on their hands with Israel to mastermind an attack like this. All signs point to Osami bin Laden, who has the resources and organization to pull this off. Plus, his obvious attraction to the World Trade Center (see bombing in '93).

If CNN and the BBC can find him and interview him, why can't anyone with a gun find him? Dress up the CIA as CNN and cap his ass.
