I think it's hilarious how all Longhorns talk about is football, until their team gets beat. Then the conversation magically changes to admission standards and stadium size. At least Aggies are good losers, after we beat them all they said was "good game, we'll get you next year". We beat UT and they go off on profanity laced tirades, yelling, screaming, and crying like preschoolers. Just go outside and protest something already.

I think I'll stick to the topic of football because the rest of these arguments are bullshit.

I have nothing but respect for Tech's football team. They are fun to watch, they don't give up, and they can be pretty damn good when you give them an inch or two. The fans make Lubbock a tough place to play, but that's the only good thing I can think of to say about them. I realize there are a few good ones up there, but "few" is the operative word.

Kingsbury and Welker killed our defense, which was already suffering, due to injuries, but we could have beaten them without our missing players. We just didn't. Our gameday coaching sucked, our defense was miserable, our offense and special teams could have been much better (though Simms did a hell of a job), and we had too damn many penalties. Combine all that with the fact that Tech was giving a fantastic performance, and it's no freaking wonder we lost.

Congrats to all the Tech fans on this board. The Red Raiders earned this one.

Yeah, recruiters hate going here. I don't graduate until May and I've already have three interviews with three different companies. Hell, two of my friends haven't had 15 interviews each this semester....they are just hallucinating. Maybe you are talking about recruiters hating to visit the "lincoln log construction engineering" program. In that case, they hate going here because we don't have one...instead they choose you.

Chivas: If UT would play some quality teams, they wouldn't have that 9-2 record, don't even try to play that game. That 9-2 record means nothing when you're playing crappy teams. Texas' schedule is ranked 22nd, while Tech's is 9th. Try that schedule on for size.

I had so much fun at Tech/UT game. It was everything and more than it was hyped up to be. Raidergate was a blast. Cheering with my friends along side a soldout 52,000+ seats was great. I also had a lot of fun watching all you longhorns with your arrogance towards tech get shot down - guns up style. And please, lets not all try to turn this around with the whole "tech academics is lower than ours" b.s. because this is about sports here, not high school cutdowns of "I know you are but what am I" crap. If your analysis of "winners" and "losers" is centered solely on the 2002 football season, then yes...I suppose LCC is the "winner".

But if you prefer to focus on things like academics, reputation, quality of life, and the ratio of positive to negative news stories about your school, I would say that A&M and UT are the clear winners year in and year out.

After all, even if you Red Retards go 11-0, you still live in Lubfuck, you still go to Tech, and you're still dropping $30K on an education you could have picked up for 1/5th the cost at Tarrant Community College.

The name of OU's backup quarterback (Paul Thompson) appeared on this message board sometime last year. As I said last year, it is a shame that all the schools in Texas missed out on such a great prospect. UT wanted him but was not going to let him play QB. A&M was convinced that Reggie would win them a National Championship this year. Tech thought he would be too prone to "tuck and run" rather than scramble until he found his open receiver. Next year OU will be set with Paul Thompson as QB.

Looking at the sideline yesterday it was obvious that UT will not be hurting at the QB position next year. The biggest problem will be the possible QB controversy.

I didn't see the A&M-OU game but I heard it was blown coverage and receivers falling down, not great passes that resulted in the four touchdowns. Still Reggie might be able to come along as a good QB.

BJ is going to surprise lots of people next year. He will need a few games to get some experience, and I doubt he will ever be able to fill Kingsbury's shoes, but we will not drop off near as much as everyone expects.

The Big XII South next season will be wide-open for everyone except Tech, Baylor, and Kansas. The North has the potential to be even crazier.

Has The Big 12 done more recruiting in the QB position? Because with the loss of names such as Chris Simms, Nate Hybl, Mark Ferris (decent), and Kliff Kingsbury there are a number of power houses that will be hurting. A&M will be okay if Reggie gets better. Tech will suck again. Texas will be all hype around some "big" name and then prove there all hype later in the season. And OU I'm unsure about since Nate Hybl will be gone, and Jason White is still recovering from his surgery. So it's all up in the air.

And to answer Raider Pride, this board talked about why Tech isn't competition. Basically they don't have the history, the competitive record, or the clout to be considered real competition. The only reason they are considered any minor form of competition is because they are on everyone's schedule as another opponent. But OU will show Tech why they aren't considered competition (hope I don't eat those words later). The game is in Norman, and minus the OSU loss at home last season, OU hasn't lost a home game since 1999. So get your guns up or whatever the fuck you guys do, make the long drive to Norman from Lubfuck, try not to vandalize any of the campus, and leave with tail between legs with a real showing of what Tech is about.

QB controversy? Whatever. Long has blown three games this season with interceptions. He tried to do it in the 4th quarter when we forrest gumped our way into a first down because of a fumbled interception that resulted in a 1st down. Reggie was ineffectual with the run (pinned down on the two for his second drive) cause the offensive line was AWOL and he only got to throw two passes before he got hurt.

Long is just as much the choke artists as Sims.
