Ya know, if everyone was welcome onto the field in a free-for-all after the game, then why would there even be ONE police officer or security guard there?
Hmmm, because maybe you're not supposed to be on the field.
Now, as to whether the UPD or security bozos actually do their job, that's another story. But I said it once, and I will say it again. The stadium announcer says to keep off the field. The police and security guards are standing there impliedly telling you not to rush the field. The Corps, the Yell Leaders, and the entire Aggie student body are yelling at you to stay off the field. If you are too fucking stupid to heed all these warnings and you insist upon running onto the field, then you deserve whatever you get. You should also be in 3rd grade instead of college, because apparently you can't follow simple fucking instructions. That, or in a childish sense of rebellion, you take pride in doing exactly the opposite of what is expected of you. Either way, I don't feel any sympathy if you get smacked around. Tough shit. I wouldn't feel any sympathy for Aggies who rushed an opponent's field and got smacked, either. It's entirely possible to celebrate a victory without having to rush the field or dance around in the endzone like a jackass.
