Chivas:
Yeah, I know, sorry about that... So BRAD, you grow up, too!
Kelly:
Every school is going to have departments that are better than the others. I could say the same thing about UT not having an awesome pulsed power program within it's EE department, but I'm sure their EE department has specializations that we don't.
About SAT scores, etc... do you really think a standardized test is all that good? It's just numbers, it has no way of testing the true intelectual capability of any person.
Anyhow, there isn't THAT much difference between the scores... average SAT/ACT for UT: 1217/25, Tech: 1113/24, A&M: 1178/25.
Other facts:
Faculty with PhD's: Tech: 88%, UT: 89%
According to PrincetonReview, Tech offers near twice as many majors as UT.

Chivas:
Show some respect, man. Geez.
Even though you refuse to admit it, Tech is a great school (along with A&M and UT, even though I hate to admit it). The only reason we're tier 3 is because that's where we DESERVED to be about 10 years ago. It doesn't take much to drop through the ranks, but it's tough to raise through them.
Employers don't really care what USNEWS thinks, honestly. Employers recruit from schools which they have a reputation with, schools that have produced quality employees for them in the past.
Trust me, I've worked in industry, and I am personal friends with multiple recruiters.
I'm willing to bet, especially in engineering, that if you compare graduates from Tech, A&M, and UT, that you will see very little, if any, difference in the offers made by employers. This goes for salary, the percentage of offers made, etc...
Grow up. Arguing about which football team is better is one thing.. it's fun, it's stupid... nobody takes offense to it. When you talk about quality of education and career placement, be sure you know what you're talking about before you decide to slander.
