Everybody is accusing Aggies of "talking shit" because we just creamed two no-name teams in a row. But...I haven't heard any Aggies talking shit. In fact, we all know we were expected to dominate and blow out both teams. So stop inventing some kind of misinformed pride on our part...we realize that Baylor and KU both sucked. Our test will be this Saturday against Nebraska. And our fans probably won't throw shit on the field and penalize our own team.

Can we whip out the academic superiority of UT at some point, too? Because that'd be fun, seeing as UT is the ONLY Tier 1 school out of the four or five people consistently bitch from...

Let's just see what UT does this weekend after ISU, and the following against Nebraska. Tech in Lubbock isn't a cakewalk either, so they've still got some big games ahead of them. The problem with people bitching about Simms, Ashley, is that they can't manage to look at the bigger picture of his stats--they only see the game-to-game happenings, which doesn't necessarily look as good as the overall picture... But Simms was great on Saturday. He didn't have two of his wide recievers on the field, and the running game was going nowhere because our offensive line... well, they kinda suck. They're young, but they sure as hell don't give Benson much to work with.

Here's the beautiful part - we can sit here and talk shit back and forth (actually, you're the only one talking shit, but that's cool), but in the end, *I* don't live in Norman. And that makes me happy.

or they are still not impressed with his performance against TOP 10 teams. Ashley, you bitch and complain and moan about how much we talk shit about Simms, and you say that was a big game, yet he still hasn't done anything newsworthy against a Top 10. When he does, then I will at least stop the trash talking. And shit if OSU who almost beat Texas can whip up on Nebraska, then you have no room to talk about that being a hard game. If we can beat ISU, then I'm assuming you can too, Nebraska, Then there is Baylor (enough said), Texas Tech (if you let the Lubfucks kick ass and take names it's pathetic), And then A&M (at home) Even though I'm pulling for the Ags in that one I still think UT will win.

Bob Stoops Record against AP Top 10 teams, 10-1
Mack Brown Record against AP Top 10 teams, (shit can't find the fact) But I know it sucks.
Chris Simms Record against AP Top 10 teams, *laughs* no no I can't post it. Too embarassing.

This was in the paper following Saturdays game.

"Leach uses microphone to stop tortilla tossing

LUBBOCK – Big 12 referee Steve Usechek gave Tech plenty of warning about throwing tortillas onto the field Saturday. Usechek even let coach Mike Leach borrow his microphone to talk to the fans.

"If somebody next to you has tortillas, take 'em from them," Leach said.

Still, the Red Raiders were penalized twice for unsportsmanlike conduct when tortillas came flying out of the student section. One penalty sparked a Missouri scoring drive. Another penalty turned a regular extra-point attempt into a 35-yarder, which Robert Treece converted."

Just another example of the stupidity of those kids from LCC. They didn't even have enough respect for their football team to stop acting like idiots for one game. Put down the tortilla and pick up your dignity(and maybe even a book once in a while).

Yep. And since he's only gone 21-5 and set records at Texas for completion percentage, TD's in a season, passing attempts, yards, and YPC, he's a dismal failure.

Jesus christ, I cannot fathom why people don't consider Chris Simms to be a good QB. It's obvious that he's not the next coming of James Street. Yes, he was marketed (NOT by UT, remember) as the next great thing, and turned into kinda the current Ron Powlus. But it's not like he went out and lost to Stanford and NcSt.

or they're aggravated by the fact that they picked simms to be the best college football player 3 years ago and he hasn't lived up to the hype. either way...

Monday Oct 21st 10:27am
Ashley ®  - UT Austin

Why were they blaming Simms? The only blatant mistake he made was throwing the deep ball from the KSU 30 after the fumble recovery. Other than that, the guy stood his ground and delivered a lot of throws that were right on target, despite getting nailed numerous times, despite having only one healthy receiver, and despite having no one in the backfield. I think people are just aggravated by the fact that they have to come up with a different response this time to Simms's performance in a big game.

Either that,
or Mike Leech looked at the Oklahoma program that he no longer apart of and cried so much it dilluted his alcohol.

I watched the OU/ISU game. Seneca Wallace and crew were falling all over themselves (the rain didn't help). I mean last 2 minutes of the half, and ISU recovers a fumble on the 2 yard line. Takes 4 downs and end the half scoreless. That's pathetic. 2 defensive TD's and 5 offensive TD's shows much improvement for my boys. And ISU's total offense 25 yards!! when thier average had been somewhere in the 430's. A&M can talk shit about how they have been getting tons of yards against no name teams, but once a good D comes knockin, it will be a sad day in aggie land.

And UT must feel like Miami right now or close. I mean the final field goal kick of the game missed by the opposing team. Mack must of shit his pants knowing he wasn't completely down the drain. I didn't watch the game, but the Sportscenter guys were putting some of the blame on Simms and the rest on the OL for not stepping up.

BOOMER SOONER!!

Hey, did anybody see Mike Leach on Saturday? It was amazing, I've never seen him like that in my life. He looked sober for once, it was absolutly amazing. Everybody else looked the same. R.C. still looked clueless and Mack still looked like he never won a championship. But, wow, Mike Leach, sober!?! This world's just getting crazy.

I'm sure it's fairly new, but you have to wonder why it is that our kicker managed to get the job done, and their kicker had a blocked extra point and a blocked field goal... and that's his home field.

Of course, this week Mack could have possibly used the wind as an excuse... Dumbass coaches.

Hey, I was just seeing if anyone else got a chance to catch The Rules of Attraction at the theater. I saw it opening day and was satisfied. The book was great. Anyway, just checking.

how new is that turf at K-State? one of the on-field announcers was like "yeah, the kickers just aren't used to there not being a tee" or something to that affect. and someone else said that the kickers were complaining of dragging their toe, which leads back to the no tee thing.

Saturday Oct 19th 11:53pm
Ashley ®  - UT Austin

I think momentum had a lot to do with the OU/ISU game. The blocked punt at the beginning of the game, which would have rolled out of the end zone for a safety in most cases, just stopped as soon as it crossed the goal line, and ISU's player completely airballed it, when he tried to kick it out before OU could jump on it. Not a great way to start things off. I don't want to take anything from OU's D because they are very, very good, but 49-3? Seneca Wallace was just awful in this game. Of course, he didn't have any help, but they didn't play well at all. OU played a great game, and they caught a few breaks. Not much else you can say about it. I was hoping the Cyclones would handle the Sooners, but I guess we'll have to wait for CU and A&M to do that. :)

Just wanted to say congrats to all the Big 12 south teams showing the North how we do things!

Look at all those wins! Tech, UT, A&M, OSU, OU... it's awesome!
I'm glad that OU dominated Iowa State, but did anyone watch the game?

What made the difference between how they played last week and how they played this week, other than OU's D?

Hey Ag - using the word "dominate" is indeed crowing. Just thought I should point that out.

And I love inciting riots - I had an over/under of 37 minutes for someone to get pissed off that I didn't consider KU a quality win for A&M. Who took the over?

Saturday Oct 19th 9:13pm
Typing Monkey ®  - Texas A&M

If you beat a top 25 team on the road, it is still a quality win.

Saturday Oct 19th 8:59pm
Ashley ®  - UT Austin

This is what I love about anti-Texas fans. When we lose a game like the one we played today, all you hear is "Chris Simms blows another big game." But when the Horns win, it's "not a quality win." We had nothing going on the ground today, and Simms got his ass nailed a few times, but he had some absolutely beautiful throws (that dumbass deep throw that was intercepted right after Lee Jackson's fumble recovery would NOT be included here) and he led this team to victory over the Wildcats IN Manhattan, something Major never accomplished. And that's not a knock on Major, just pointing out that everybody has an Achilles heel.

Cory Redding, Kalen Thornton, Rodrique Wright, hell, everybody on defense and special teams played one hell of a game. Losing would have knocked us out of contention for the South title. If you can't call this a quality win, you're a moron. It's as simple as that. Just because beating Kansas isn't the thrill of your season, it doesn't mean we don't have reason to be proud of our team for picking themselves up and getting the job done today.

Saturday Oct 19th 7:58pm
Kelly ®  - UT Austin

The kicker for K-State was bad, but don't take credit away from the Texas defense--they were awesome.

I'm home, it's 10 p.m., I'm exhausted, and yet I feel as though I should go out. Now if only people would turn their phones on.

Saturday Oct 19th 7:49pm
Ag  - Texas A&M

Nobody was "crowing" over the A&M win, jerk. We all knew it was a gimme and that we would dominate. But I wouldn't rank a last second "just squeaked by" win (thanks to a bad kicker) as the most "quality" win today. It was a win over a Top 20 team, nonetheless, but not a quality one.

Saturday Oct 19th 7:35pm
josh  - UT Austin

In order of quality of win ...

UT over KSt in the "letdown special", 17-14
Tech over Missouri in the "Brad Smith is THAT good" game, 54-20(whatever)
A&M over The Kansas Basketball Team in the "we have a football team, too?" game, 47-22.

Go ahead, Ags, crow over those consecutive wins against the sisters of charity. Your time is coming.

Saturday Oct 19th 2:24pm
Ag  - Texas A&M

Ags dominate 47-22. Let's see how LCC and t.u. do!
