Can we whip out the academic superiority of UT at some point, too? Because that'd be fun, seeing as UT is the ONLY Tier 1 school out of the four or five people consistently bitch from...
Let's just see what UT does this weekend after ISU, and the following against Nebraska. Tech in Lubbock isn't a cakewalk either, so they've still got some big games ahead of them. The problem with people bitching about Simms, Ashley, is that they can't manage to look at the bigger picture of his stats--they only see the game-to-game happenings, which doesn't necessarily look as good as the overall picture... But Simms was great on Saturday. He didn't have two of his wide recievers on the field, and the running game was going nowhere because our offensive line... well, they kinda suck. They're young, but they sure as hell don't give Benson much to work with.

or they are still not impressed with his performance against TOP 10 teams. Ashley, you bitch and complain and moan about how much we talk shit about Simms, and you say that was a big game, yet he still hasn't done anything newsworthy against a Top 10. When he does, then I will at least stop the trash talking. And shit if OSU who almost beat Texas can whip up on Nebraska, then you have no room to talk about that being a hard game. If we can beat ISU, then I'm assuming you can too, Nebraska, Then there is Baylor (enough said), Texas Tech (if you let the Lubfucks kick ass and take names it's pathetic), And then A&M (at home) Even though I'm pulling for the Ags in that one I still think UT will win.
Bob Stoops Record against AP Top 10 teams, 10-1
Mack Brown Record against AP Top 10 teams, (shit can't find the fact) But I know it sucks.
Chris Simms Record against AP Top 10 teams, *laughs* no no I can't post it. Too embarassing.

I think momentum had a lot to do with the OU/ISU game. The blocked punt at the beginning of the game, which would have rolled out of the end zone for a safety in most cases, just stopped as soon as it crossed the goal line, and ISU's player completely airballed it, when he tried to kick it out before OU could jump on it. Not a great way to start things off. I don't want to take anything from OU's D because they are very, very good, but 49-3? Seneca Wallace was just awful in this game. Of course, he didn't have any help, but they didn't play well at all. OU played a great game, and they caught a few breaks. Not much else you can say about it. I was hoping the Cyclones would handle the Sooners, but I guess we'll have to wait for CU and A&M to do that. :)

This is what I love about anti-Texas fans. When we lose a game like the one we played today, all you hear is "Chris Simms blows another big game." But when the Horns win, it's "not a quality win." We had nothing going on the ground today, and Simms got his ass nailed a few times, but he had some absolutely beautiful throws (that dumbass deep throw that was intercepted right after Lee Jackson's fumble recovery would NOT be included here) and he led this team to victory over the Wildcats IN Manhattan, something Major never accomplished. And that's not a knock on Major, just pointing out that everybody has an Achilles heel.
Cory Redding, Kalen Thornton, Rodrique Wright, hell, everybody on defense and special teams played one hell of a game. Losing would have knocked us out of contention for the South title. If you can't call this a quality win, you're a moron. It's as simple as that. Just because beating Kansas isn't the thrill of your season, it doesn't mean we don't have reason to be proud of our team for picking themselves up and getting the job done today.
