I don't know why you people always dog on Kliff, he has basically every record in the books. I think you should look a little closer to home at old Simms, the guy can't come through in the clutch, and even you people can't argue that.

Goddamn, it's gonna be funny when Lubbock Losers like JD are making more excuses on Nov. 16th when Tech's season has dropped below sea level. And I doubt the same mistake will be made this year when it comes to dishing out the Bowl bids...I think that reruns of Sesame Street got higher ratings than the LCC-Iowa Alamo Bowl.

And as soon as Carl Reese learns what a draw is. I mean, seriously, maybe they should invite a fan into the locker room during halftime to give them a clue as to what's going on. OU ran the draw a thousand times in the first half, and for some reason they decided to do it again in the second half too. Those sneaky bastards.

I've always liked Simms and I thought he did the best he could with what he was handed on Saturday. I think he had something like 26 passing attempts. How many TDs can we expect when Davis won't let him throw the damn ball, or when his linemen decide to take a break in the middle of the action, or when his receivers decide they'd rather watch OU's DBs catch the ball?

I have personally decided it's time to start cheering for Major to replace Mack Brown instead of Simms.

I'll have to stick up for Simms here.

Yea, he sucked last year (most of those games that you referred to). But this year he has matured a little more. Yea, he threw 3 INTs, but 2 of those were certainly not his fault. You can't blame the QB with the receiver drops the ball as he's trying to catch it and gets nailed and a Sooner just happened to be where it bounced. You can't blame Benson for playing bad either. If you watched him run, you should have notice how hard he'd try for that extra yard or two. I just think it was the offense as a team that failed. Our offensive line wasn't giving out any opportunities, we weren't catching balls that we should have. No one person to blame, except maybe Greg Davis. (at times). Hopefully they'll get their heads out of their asses and be able to actually drive the ball rather than rely on special teams and defensive INTs for points.

Chris Simms -"big game performances" = 15 interceptions and zero touchdown passes! Maybe there needs to be a change.

It's ok, Ashley.
Don't ask me to wipe away your tears on November 16th.

Oh, yeah, the galleryfurniture.com bowl is now the houston bowl. The aggies probably cried for a name change after they got stuck there last year.

JD, you are wrong and bewildered. Tech had 7 wins before their bowl game and so did A&M. What really counts is that A&M had 8 wins after their bowl game and the Raiders still had 7. And let's face it, you guys looked like a high school team against Iowa. I think A&M proved the bowls should have been reversed.

Beyond the BCS bowls, bowl committees choose the teams that will bring in the most revenue. For some reason, the Alamo Bowl committee felt like Tech could get the job done, but I'm pretty sure they won't make the same mistake twice. If, by some miracle of God, Tech happened to finish with a better record than Texas, we would still get the better bowl game because people would rather watch Texas. It's as simple as that.

One day (Nov. 16) you'll see how stupid your statements are.

Am I mistaken, or is there no longer a Galleryfurniture.com Bowl? If not, it looks like Tech will have to create their own bowl game up in Lubfuck. They can call it the I Can't Believe It's A Bowl, complete with a "Decorate Your Trailer" contest and "Goalpost Tossing" at halftime. What a bunch of sorry fucks. You're dreaming if you think Tech is going to beat UT or OU. And y'all will lose one to either CU or Missouri. Hell, you'll probably lose to OSU, too. So with a likely record of 6-7, it looks like you'll all be sitting on your brains watching all of us play over X-mas break.

Monday Oct 14th 3:14pm
JD - Lubbock Community College

ASHLEY: I know we won't get into a BCS bowl, I can handle that... but Texas won't either when we beat them.

If you look at what non-bcs bowls are available to the big 12, there's Holiday, Independence, Alamo, Humanitarian, Cotton, and GalleryFurniture (where A&M will be)

Let me see... I'd rather go to either Alamo or Independence than GalleryFurniture

I figure the cotton bowl will be a good place to land, though...

And, contrary to popular belief... wins do have SOMETHING to do with it, or else A&M wouldn't have played in Houston last year.

Also, I would like to give props to Chris Simms. Even after it was clear that we were going to lose, he continued to play his ass off and didn't quit until the game was over. That's a hell of a lot more than I can say for a lot of our fans and many of our other players. He made a few mistakes, but he didn't give up, and he's got my respect for that.

Monday Oct 14th 3:09pm
JD - Lubbock Community College

We didn't need to beat you to give ourselves confidence, we beat you to try and get you to shut the hell up.

I guess that didn't work... you cry more now than before.

If you don't remember, we did beat Ole' Miss, we did beat A&M. I don't care about the SMU win and the NM romping... our defense did hold them scoreless, though.
Anyhow, the only teams we've lost to are top 15 teams... more than A&M can say.
We've only been beat by the top Offenses in the country... Ohio State, NC State, and Iowa State.

Until either Texas or A&M decides to try and play a tough schedule, I don't want to hear anything...

JD, get a clue. Records don't mean shit when it comes to non-BCS bowls. Given bowl eligibility, it's all about money. The day the Red Raiders get a better bowl than Texas is the day I transfer to LCC. By the way, do you even know what the Big 12 bowls are? If you think going to Independence or Alamo is a good thing, you are definitely LCC material.

Damn, I love how Tech beats A&M and suddenly they think the manure in their town smells a little sweeter. Pretty soon they'll start spelling Lubbock M-I-A-M-I. Ahahahaha. Wake up, Techies...you are gonna go 6-6 this season and be lucky if you play in the Anna Nicole Smith Cheeseburger Bowl.

Smoke some games huh? interesting.....

Monday Oct 14th 1:18pm
matt_ - Texas A&M

And I don't know what games some of you have been smoking but I'd like some too... I said before Texas isn't a national championship caliber team, but they certainly aren't a doormat either. And where the hell did all of this Texas Tech confidence come from -- beating A&M?
Newsflash Tech: Texas, Colorado, Missouri, and Oklahoma ALL have above average offenses.
Newsflash Tech: Your defense is ranked 92 out of 117 in the nation
Newsflash Tech: Your defense is ranked damn near last even though you've played SMU (#108 offense out of 117),New Mexico (#110 out of 117), and Texas A&M (#70 out of 117 -- which is still very misleading due to the recent Baylor and LA Tech victories -- we're worse than that).

I know that they don't require many math skills out their at Texas Tech, but to think you've got a shot at winning more than 1 of the games against Texas/Colorado/Missouri/Oklahoma is fucking ridiculous.

Did the UT students/team generate the hype? Certainly not. Did they buy into it and promote it? Certainly.

Wheatables, are you suggesting since I see eye to eye on many issues with Pace that we are homosexuals? Interesting point, you just made yourself sound like a complete dumbass. And as for my sexuality I have had a girlfriend for two years, and she can vouch for my hetero sex drive. Also, are you from Arlington?

i had another question that i just had a dream about....

why OU and now UO?

JD - Lubbock Community College

Very well said, Post.

Reading through a few of the comments on here, I have some thoughts.

Texas will lose to Tech in Lubbock, gauranteed. Texas will lose to Iowa State. They don't have a chance the way they've been playing. That's a three loss season for Texas... and Tech will take it's one loss to Iowa State and Maybe another to OU, and I'll be happy because we'll be in the independence bowl or alamo bowl, but Texas won't. And A&M will be lucky to make it to a bowl.

Hey Texas, how long is the drive to the galleryfurniture bowl???

What is a "Sooner?"
It would be hard to find a nickname that is as unique and as tied-in to a state's history as a Sooner. The Oklahoma territory opened with the Land Run of 1889. Settlers from across the globe, seeking free land, made their way to the prairies of the plains to stake their claim to a new life. One of the few rules to claiming a lot of land was that all participants were to start at the same time, on the boom of a cannon. All settlers who started then were labeled as "Boomers" and the ones who went too soon were called "Sooners." OU athletic teams were called either Rough Riders or Boomers for 10 years before the current Sooner nickname emerged in 1908. The university actually derived their name from a pep club called "The Sooner Rooters."

Well, Wheatables, those are certainly some interesting stats you've compiled there. I mean, you claim that you could write better than me in the eighth grade. Where do you get this information? Have you been looking through my files again, you naughty little fuck. And then you go on to say that I make incoherent and ignorant posts. No more than say, you making false accusations? YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME! And if you did, I probably would think you were a fag and not hang out with you. And no, Brad's not my lover. Let me clear up that little misconception right now. He's got a girlfriend (going on around 2 years now I believe), and I just like to hook up. In fact, let me make an accusation that I can't prove at all...I probably get more ass than you do! And your last point...I'm from Arlington and I'm a dumbass. HAHA! Wow! What insight! Man, that really clears up everything for me! Case and point. Grow up. You don't know me, I don't know you. I don't come down on you just because you're from A&M. I don't rip on you just because your picture is gay and you look like you really have some plans for that poor kid in your 'headlock of love'. So, shut the fuck up. Now, go ahead fellow Tamuter's...rip me apart for this post! Or maybe Wheatables could just come up with something worth everyone's time to read.

I have no idea... "Hook 'em" and "Gig 'em" both make sense on some levels, but I have no clue what Boomer Sooner means.

what does "Boomer Sooner" mean?
