well, SOMEONE has to go play Miami in Tempe. I'd just as well rather it be us ...

OU SUCKS.

As far as the national chamionship is concerned, I hate to say that this weekends fabled Dallas matchup will probably have little bearing. Even if the surviving team does manage to make it to the show(which, given recent performances by both teams, I seriously doubt), I honestly hate to admit that I haven't seen a team in the nation that really match up against Miami.

UT 24, OU 14.

You don't let in "Frat Boys", you create them. Since they join the fraternity AFTER they enter school.

man...2 weeks into my Test/Quiz Hell Month and i get slammed with another test. that brings the total up to 7 tests, 7 quizzes in 3.5 weeks. ironically enough, it began and ends with music theory being 1 of 2 tests on that day. man, good thing i'm only taking 13hrs.

JD is right. Tech doesn't have the history of an A&M or a UT, because yall have been around for about 60 more years than we have. This affects everything from academics, to school size, to athletic programs and beyond. I have always believed that if you took the top 10-20% of all three schools the intelligence levels would correlate fairly well. Yet our academic programs lag behind that of UT and A&M because in order to reach our desired enrollment we have to let in a few too many drunken frat boys. This is a necessary evil which will be remedied a few years down the road. But I can assure you that Texas Tech is just as good of a school as either of yalls were at the 75 year mark.

Ag  - Texas A&M

Ok JD...for the past few years, Tech has been playing "much better" than A&M?

2001: A&M (8-4, 4-4 in Big 12) LCC (7-5, 4-4 in Big 12) LCC won the A&M-LCC game
2000: A&M (7-5, 5-3 in Big 12) LCC (7-6, 3-5 in Big 12) A&M won the A&M-LCC game
1999: A&M (8-4, 5-3 in Big 12) LCC (6-5, 5-3 in Big 12) LCC win the A&M-LCC game
1998: A&M (11-3, 8-1 in Big 12) LCC (7-5, 4-4 in Big 12) A&M won the A&M-LCC game

Hmmm...I'd say that LCC has been playing slightly WORSE than A&M since 1998...the A&M-LCC matchup was evenly split at 2-2 and A&M's overall record was better than LCC each year.

And by the way, talking smack doesn't establish a rivalry, it only makes you and your school look worse.

I agree with what you guys are saying... Tech doesn't have the history that both the UT and A&M programs have, that's why it's hard to earn respect.

The thing is, we are getting better... and you can't deny that. We're working on building a force to be recconed with... and one way we do that is by talking smack... haha

I think both UT and A&M have great historical programs, but right now, and for the past few years, Tech has been playing much better than A&M.

I love how some LCC people like to look at the measure of program as a whole 8 long years!!! That's Have you won a national? No. Have you won a Big XII? No. Have you even won a Big XII South? No. Seriously, a couple of good seasons does not a good program make. There's a lot of ebbs and flows in power of programs. Texas was pretty pathetic not too long ago and A&M was a national powerhouse about five years ago. Seriously, you haven't done shit even when ya'll are playing well and you still like to say, "Our program has surpassed yours." You've gotta be fucking kidding me.

I don't know if any of y'all were listening to the RC Slocum Call-in show from Wings 'n More, but I called in and asked Slocum why the Tech receivers had a 5-yard cushion the whole game and why A&M stuck with a 3-man rush all game instead of pressuring Kingsbury more. Slocum's response?

"If you can come up with a way to cover 4 receivers while rushing more than 3 guys, I'd like to talk to you".

He basically said he has no clue how to stop a passing offense. Dear God, I hope we get a new coach after this season.

Monday Oct 7th 5:18pm
Bluto ®  - UT Austin

I think people overestimate the support of Slocum in Aggieland. Most people are fed up with Slocum and ready for a change. Like Wheatables said, in college football anything can and does happen...unless you're talking about A&M. In that case, it's the same story year after year...win the easy games, lose the big games by sitting on a lead instead of being aggressive, end up 8-4 or 7-5, go to insignificant bowl game, RC keeps his job. Repeat.

And A&M-UT have been playing eachother since 1894. That's what makes a rivalry...not the fact that some school from West Texas has had a string of luck and won 6 of the last 8 times. Give it another 50 games and maybe, MAYBE it'll be a rivalry.

I meant no disrespect to A&M with my comment. I just don't appreciate being told that we should be embarassed for winning. True, we should have won by more than 2 points, but our defense did step up at the end of the game and prevent OSU from coming back to win. Rod Babers stuffed them on the 2-point conversion and then came up big with an interception. That deserves some credit. OSU didn't blow the game. The only time they were ahead was when it was 3-0. Blowing a game is having a sizeable lead and then allowing yourself to lose. It was a crappy performance by Texas, I'm not denying that. However, we won. And there's nothing embarassing about that.

I'm still not sold on the talent of Kliff. I do think he plays well in a good system, kind of like any of the Florida QB's under Spurrier. However, I don't see him stepping up and having a successful NFL career.

And any knocks on our recruiting can be answered with two words: Reggie McNeal.

I find it hard to believe that we've never gotten more votes on the AP poll, when we've been ranked before and you haven't. I don't trust many of the polls, they're too hard to tell true quality of a team.

Anyhow, Tech's program is growing better every year. if A&M gets the "best" recruits, why didn't you get Kliff? he actually wanted to go there originally, but A&M wouldn't talk to him. You continue to get your high school stars and we'll pick out those diamonds in the rough.

I guess I just fail to see how calling TU instead of UT is at all degrading.

I'm going to say a few words, but you might be surprised.

You guys (LCC - because you might have a team, but still no academics) made one hell of a comeback, and I applaud you on that. Our coahing staff needs to better prepare. However, a rival you are not. A&M and UT have been playing games every Thanksgiving before your school was even founded. Calling your program better than A&M's is absurd and unjustified. Sure, you may have won six of the last eight games, but the overall records of the program are nowhere near each other. Have you won a Big XII championship yet? Or even the Big XII South? Look at the oppnonents and records of each team since the formation of the Big XII and you will notice a large differnce. We have beat many more ranked opponents, our record is better, we get the better recruits, and we have always been ranked higher. This is the first week that you have ever gotten more votes in the AP poll, but you are still not ranked. Also, we still received more votes in the poll that counts right now, the Coaches poll. I am sure Typing Monkey will pull these statistics up if you still fail to believe. Good luck on your remaining games, but remember, this is College Football, and anything can and will happen.

Everyone who talks shit on this website shows their true IQ (about 50). It is just a freaken game. Why do you people get so worked up over a football game. Yes it is fun to have the rivalry but all of you need to grow up. Every school should be looked at on the same level. They are all good schools. Have fun with the rivalry but you people go to far. So why don't all of you grow up!

Aggies resort to name calling, such as TU and LCC because they like to pick fights and try to find a rival.

Hey guys, take a clue... we're both better than you. Maybe you should pick on someone your own size... like Baylor.

Monday Oct 7th 3:20pm
Ag  - Texas A&M

t.u. = texas university, the slang term Aggies use for U.T., similar to LCC for Texas Tech
U.T. = University of Texas

That was fucking difficult.

Monday Oct 7th 3:20pm
Typing Monkey ®  - Texas A&M

Brad, A&M students refer to UT as t.u. because the University of is traditionally given to the first public university within that state. Since A&M was the first public university in Texas, we feel that UT is more deserving of t.u. Of course, its use only becomes prevalent for a span of a week centered about T+1(day after Thanksgiving).

I realize that a lot of shit is going to be talked on here for a while, but if you are going to post from the same IP address from the LCC campus, use different names and schools each time, and have conversations with yourself, then I have no choice but to delete everything you write.

Why don't you just answer the question about the TU,UT thing.
