I know that I'm just responding to a troll, but jesus christ, some people are so fucking stupid. I'll give you three guesses (and the first two don't count) as to which NCAA div-I team leads the nation in total defense? Hint - you played them last week, and put up 156 yards of total offense. Now, in comparison, lets see where LaTech rates ... yep, nowhere near #1. Think that might have something to do with the disparity in the offensive numbers? Nahh, couldn't be ... it's gotta be the coaching change.

What happens when you lose to Tech? Moral victory, cause the score was 42-31? Hell, that's 31 points two weeks in a row!

Oh...you were finished? Well, allow me to retort.

444 yards of offense. Compared to 156 yards last week against VA Tech and 281 yards versus Pitt. And, coincidentally, Dino Babers wasn't calling the offense this week.

Things that make you go HMMMMMMMMMMMM

444 yards of offense. Eat that!!! A&M is back. Combine that with the Wrecking Crew, and we're unstoppable.

We'd have a better offense, if our field goal kicker didn't SUCK SO MUCH FLAMING ASS. Jesus, a retarded monkey can kick a 22-yard field goal. 3 for 9? Outta here, Mr. Shanky.

Good God...A&M has an offense finally. At least, from what I can tell from the internet broadcast. Damn you pay-per-view!

RC should demote Dino Babers down to Assistant to the Assistant Equipment Manager...the Aggies would score 70 points a game.

I'm going to buy a .50-cal sniper rifle, find the person responsible for the Old Navy commercials, and shoot repeatedly.

Wow, this Penn State/Iowa game is the best game I have seen all year. Go Nittany Lions!

Guys I just want to say that this is an awesome site. And fuck all the people at Texas Tech that got shit with TAMUT! I saw the web address all over UT on the sidewalks written with chalk. Good advertising. Keep the party going!! Hook 'em.

ah....it's like high school, only 43 times bigger.

yeah, the football players have things that the rest of the student body doesn't. But ya know what? The football program at a major university is the #1 form of advertising for that university. In addition, the football program supports almost all of the rest of the athletic programs, as well as itself. People who bitch about the treatment of football players or the football program just don't get it. A good football team is good for EVERYONE at the University.

It very well could have come from the College of Fine Arts, but I can guarantee it was in the form of a donation. In that case, they could easily say that the alum wanted to designate it for the football team... there are a thousand loopholes. As long as the football program is this successful, they're going to keep pouring the money into it. It sucks, but it's true.

see that's interesting 'cause a friend of mine, who's an Art -something- major, said the money for the field came from the College of Fine Arts. like originally it was for a museum, but somehow got turned into money for field. can someone confirm or deny that?

friend of mine is an ENS security guard...makes 12$ an hour.

Kelly is right....athletics are almost always self-supporting within the university budget.

Pretty much anything athletics-related comes from revenue they generate from games and alumni donations. Alumni are the reason Mack makes more than a million a year, and why there's a large bubble at Red River and Dean Keeton. I don't understand how expensive it could possibly be to keep lights on on the lower floors of the PCL for an extra 6 hours, and pay a security guard (what could they possibly make? like $10 an hour?) to be there. I really hope that SG gets a student rep on the Board of Regents. Are they still making noise about taking control of tuition rates from the legislature?

I have a simple solution for UT - doing this would save them millions on their electricity bill, even if they kept every fucking building open 24 hours a day...

Don't cool every damn room down to 60 degrees!!! Turn the A/C off once in awhile.

Wow, can I have Faulkner's job?

Friday Sep 27th 10:16am
Fat Tire ®  - UT Austin

ok, so like....how did the school justify building the indoor field? and where did that money come from? 'cause i don't understand how they can whine about an increased electricy bill after building the whatever-million dollar field. someone give me some info so i can form a decent opinion.

It was one of those weeks where I had two tests--blew one off and aced it, studied my ass off for the other and quasi-bombed it.

The only bus drivers that bother me are the ones who think it's fun to slam on their brakes. Bugs the hell out of me.

I'm in a better mood now, though! It's Friday, and I don't have class. :) And yeah, Josh--the entire PCL closes. Originally, it was supposed to have closed at midnight, but student government pitched a fit and got it to stay open until one. Apparently, the univeristy can't afford the electricity bill and the security guards, so they're closing it... and of course, Faulkner keeps saying that if we'd implemented the infrastructure fee that was ruled by the attorney general to be illegal, the PCL would stay open until one... Ooh, there's another rant entirely. Perhaps I'll do one about Faulkner and the Board of Regents next week.

i just read K's rant. the one left out that bugs the fuck out of me is the bus drivers. were this not a message board, i'd rant and rave, but it is, so i won't. ok....new rant....what the fuck is taking a trash truck so god damn long to back up at 2:06am?

Thursday Sep 26th 9:31pm
josh  - UT Austin

Wait, what is this? PCL closes at 1? The whole library, not just the top 4 floors? Jesus, I never would have passed any of my tests without those bottom-floor tables to spread out two books, six weeks worth of notes, two notebooks, practice exams and HW solutions on, when I studied all night.

That. Sucks.

Kelly, I was just reading your rant on WhatisplanB, and now another rant on Tamut....someone sure must have pissed you off today, you've sure got some steam to let off.

That was a fucking awesome game, for a Thursday night ESPN game. What a way to start the college football weekend.

Oh my God, don't even get me started on the ass clowns studying at the UGL. People are retarded--they dont' seem to grasp the concept that once IN the library, you shut up and don't say a word. Dont' answer your cell phone, don't giggle with your friends, don't spent ten minutes telling your friend about the cool thing you're reading... There are tables in the lobby for a reason. Go away.

I'm not going to New Orleans. I can't stand going with touristy people, and my friends are the ultimate in that description--"Let's hang out in the French Quarter--let's go to Bourbon Street! Where can I get a... what's it called? Muffawhatta?". Give me the Westbank, homemade jambalaya, and the bars uptown any day. That, and I'm broke as hell.

And FSU finally showed that it didn't deserve to be the #4 team in the nation.

I'm not going to the ACL Fest either. My boyfriend and I are going to New Orleans for the game. I'm just curious about the level of interest because I haven't heard many people on campus talking about it. Someone said Cross Candadian Ragweed will be there, but I figure I can forgo that. Saw them in Acuna at the Corona Club a month or so ago, and it wasn't worth missing a football game, even one against Tulane.
