Im Fucking sick of hearing how UT and A&M are so much beter than tech. Maybe the schools have more academic recognition than Tech, but College is more than just academics. People at tech know that. They dont go there for just an education, they go there for an experience. There is a lot more to life than Grade point and SAT scores. When will all you idiots at UT and A&M figure that out.

Your test scores and class ranking depend a lot on the year you applied to UT, too... To say nothing of your extracurriculars, PSAT scores, essays, etc. UT's admissions wasn't incredibly cutthroat until the kids who graduated in 2000 applied--that's when it dropped to 1 in 4 being accepted... And the same year, A&M's dropped to 1 in 3... Things are different now that so many of the colleges at UT are exempt from the top 10% law as well, I suppose. I think only Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences still have to abide by it... maybe Education and Nursing, as well.

This is my first time on your site and I was just reading some of your stuff. First, if you got an 1190 on your SAT and got into UT, I wouldn't talk about it because it makes the school look bad for accepting you. For those of you who think the only reason people go to Tech are because they couldn't get into another school, come up with a new excuse. I really was accepted to all 3, but A&M did not have a broadcasting school, and there are just too many fags in Austin. I had no idea there were so many at A&M until I started seeing pictures. I thought only the sheep were in trouble there. Oh, and I don't think I would call it luck when it comes to sports. Texas has kicked our ass in football recently, I admit it. They beat A&M also. But A&M has not beat anybody in anything. Look at the football record over the last seven years. They had a decent baseball season, but didn't even make the NCAA's. I don't think they even have a basketball program do they. Maybe the Corp can look into cheering on a badmitton squad. Why would you even think about bringing up sports. Aggies have a big misconception about their athletics program.

A&M and UT both have better football records than Tech in the past decade. As for going to College Station and beating the "fAggies" (ahahahahahahaha, oh my God, I never heard THAT one before! Oh wait...1992), I don't see it happening. According to the College Football News, UT is ranked #2 and A&M is ranked #7 going into the 2002 season. What is Texas Tech ranked? Who knows...the rankings only go up to 25 and the glorified high school wasn't listed. Maybe if they ranked the Top 50, Tech might have snuck in.

See, one thing is for certain. A&M and UT are going to beat the fuck out of Tech this Fall in football, but more importantly, A&M and UT will remain light years ahead of you in academics for the next 1000 years. I love it when Tech faggots say they "don't care" about A&M or UT, but then they can't shut the fuck up when they get lucky and beat us in sports. And sports is about the only thing Tech ever beats us in, if you've checked any academic ranking in the past 30 years. Yet that doesns't stop Techies from making up outrageous statistics, like their Engineering Department being ranked higher than A&M or UT.

We at UT and A&M make fun of Tech because it's fun to see you all get so mad and start crying about how you "could have gone to A&M or UT". I swear, the first thing out of every Tech student's mouth is "My SAT score was (real score + 400) and I got accepted at A&M and UT but turned them down". Talk about an inferiority complex. I don't talk about the schools I turned down as a way of rationalizing my current choice. Only people from Tech seem to do that, in a desparate attempt to convince themselves that they are going to a real school and not simply pissing away 4 or 5 years worth of tuition.

Face it, Tech has been, is, and always will be the little brother to the giants of A&M and UT. Tech will never be ranked higher than us academically, and I think y'all should implement a Vision 3030 plan to try to get out of the 3rd tier in the next 1,028 years. I wasn't trying to brag about my 1260, I know it's not that great, but it contradicts your assumption that most Tech students couldn't pull a 4-digit score.

All my friends go to tech, and i wish i did too. In fact I am transfering there next year. Tech is an awesome school. This site is run by a bunch of faggots who envy the Sutdents at Texas Tech.

A 1260 on the SAT isn't much to sneeze at when you look at A&M and UT's middle 50% of scores for incoming freshman--you were basically exactly average. Not to be offensive, but unless you've got at least a 1300, they're not going to look twice at your SAT's as a means to up your shot at admissions.
