Having no association with the corps, I feel the need to make a valid point. You're uneasiness about the hazing with the corps and how it does not represent A&M's entire population could easily be compared to an organization at Tech known as the "Saddle Tramps". I do realize that they are now the laughing stock of many people, but they are the oldest organization at Texas Tech. They haze, they force their "pledges" to drink, and they claim to be deep in tradition. (yes, they call them pledges but ironically the Saddle Tramps hate Fraternities) The Saddle Tramps exemplify everything that Texas Tech does not want to be seen as, but deep down, the truth comes out somehow. They are the ones that are first onto the field to rip down the goalposts, they are the ones to protect your "precious" campus monuments during "Aggie Watch" when the Aggies come to town. They are the ones who tell you not to touch anything on campus the night before the game, but when you are not looking, rip the A&M flags off your car. It's funny how the Saddle Tramps protect Roy Rogers and your heaps of cow manure, but leave their mark on the buildings of A&M and UT with spray paint every other year. I just feel that your corps bashing could easily be countered with the argument of the "Saddle Tramps". And please do not tell me that they are a small percentage of the "Classy and Intellectual" Texas Tech population. When I was leaving the game last Novemeber, it wasn't just the Saddle Tramps pounding on our Suburban with their fists, throwing tortillas and other objects at our car, it was the male AND female population of Texas Tech serving as fitting ambassadors of their school.

This is my first time to visit this site and I think it is hilarious. I would never have thought that UT and A&M would team up for anything. First of all, I want to congradulate UT on the World Series. My Texas Tech buddies and I are all pulling for you. Secondly, I have to get a little negative towards A&M, hope I don't step on any toes, especially you Jerke. I read an article in the Batallion about the corp's little hazing adventure. OK guys, forcing someone to drink until they pass out, paddling the shit out of some freshman pledge, or even tying someone up (clothes on) and leaving them in some random field to find their way back...all of these totally acceptable. What in the hell were you guys thinking? Stripping some kid naked, duck taping his arms, and carrying him around? God knows where you actually took him next! One of my best friends is a corps member, and I used to have a lot of respect for you guys for carrying on your famous traditions and all that. Now I don't think of you corps folk as much more than homoerotic buzz heads that use whatever military skills you are taught to satisfy your sexual fetishes. I do realize that the corps does not represent the majority of the population at A&M, and therefore feel sorry for those independent or fraternity students that are being associated with the corp's major...fuck up. Well thats it...GO UT BASEBALL!!! and GO HOME A&M CORPS!!!
