I enjoy good-natured rivalry, and I never pass on an opportunity to dole out a good-natured ribbing to my Longhorn friends when we beat them. But I don't have such an inferiority complex that I have to get violent and personal about the rivalry. My girlfriend and I were at the A&M-UT baseball game in College Station in '99 and we were sitting in a section full of Aggie fans. However, in the bench behind us sat 4 (obviously intoxicated) Longhorn fans. I can't even begin to describe how obnoxious these people were. Not one Aggie made a rude comment towards the UT fans, but these 4 Longhorns felt the need to swear loudly, question the manhood of several older Aggie fans who were just trying to enjoy the game, and felt the need to scream into the back of our heads about the "superiority of UT in all aspects compared to A&M" everytime a Longhorn player got a hit. They also continued to swear loudly even though dozens of children were nearby. Real classy.

Unfortunately, UT took that game by a wide margin, which only increased the filth from the UT fans. Anyway, it was the last straw, and after seeing and hearing about the assaults, vandalism, and other behavior of UT fans at every contest between them and A&M or OU, it just showed me the utter lack of respect and lack of decency many UT fans have. I'm not just talking about the couple days leading up to the UT-A&M game. I'm talking about all the time.

But once again, I will say that I'm sure there are people like this at ALL schools. But not to the extent of UT. Obnoxiousness seems to be a UT fan tradition.

oh well fuck all this rivalry bull shit... we all have bad fans.... i will point out that everyone has their biases but i feel hatred is more the word for petus... if i remember correctly it was petus that said last fall that UT was the superior school because OU and A&M hate them, and that UT fans don't have to make fun of the other schools because they know that they are best... hmmmm, doesn't look that way, or maybe just maybe its because I haven't met petus and that I am missing some sarcasm...

Yeah, UT does have some bad fans, i will admit that freely. But there are a few things you must consider, most ppl at UT games are so drunk, they probably don't know what they are doing, not that that is an excuse, but just a fact. As for saying that only UT fans slash tires and other stuff, please, out of all the times i have been to College Station, i have only had the horns on my stikers remain intact ONCE. And as for UT fans hurting ppl and just genrally being mean, once again, like that dosen't happen at every school, I was pushed into walls last year at OU weekend, and have seen some ags (not all, but some) do some pretty harsh things too. Point is, it happens, not that it is a good thing, but it does, obviously we aren't the ppl doing it, so why does it matter! Just my 2 cents.

I can agree that UT has some obnoxious fans, and somewhat bad behavior at games. Also with all the Horns massed together in Austin, it makes A-town a little unfriendly. For instance, last December I drove down for a friend's graduation. Me being oblivious to my own car since I drive it all the time. I get into Austin and stop to get gas, and all these people are looking at me, and staring me down. I thought I had done something wrong or was in the wrong part of town. Nope, I realized I left the stickers in the car window from OU/TX weekend. I have a upside down longhorn with the OU logo on top of it in my back window. That quickly went down, and took the OU liscense plate cover off the back of my car just to make sure my tires weren't slashed. What's funny is if I drive down to College Station with my OU stuff on my car, no one really cares. At least it wasn't the longhorn right side up with the horns cut off. Likely to be shot that way.

Well, I will agree that, to a non-Aggie, "Gig em" probably sounds pretty dumb. Just as "Hook 'em" and "Boomer Sooner" sound pretty retarded to me.

But when it comes to the behavior of its sports fans, UT definitely ranks at the bottom. I'll admit that there are shitty fans from every school, and all it takes are a few bad apples to ruin the bunch. But I think unsportsmanlike conduct is in the genetic code of Longhorn fans.

And I know the Longhorns on here will try to defend their fans. But I only need to point out the instances of Longhorns throwing beer bottles at opposing fans, slashing the tires on cars of opposing fans after the game, blatantly talking trash and starting fights, and physically abusing female fans of the opposing team, to show that Longhorn fans have a reputation for being poor losers and extremely obnoxious winners. This sentiment has been echoed by nearly every Aggie and OU fan I've spoken with.

Its amazing that the same people talking about how cool and uncool other schools are, are the same ones that feel they need to put up websites and post pictures about all the fun they are having. Someone possibly feeling slighlty inadequate? High school is over guys, you don't have to show those "cool kids" in high school how "cool" you are now...

Oh, and a bunch of drunk, annoying t-sips shouting "Texas....Fight" or "Texas....Bite" or whatever the fuck y'all yell...

Okay I agree that the whole "Boomer Sooner" thing sounds funny, and so does "Gig'em Ags". But then again, "Go Horns" oh yeah that's really so much better (sarcasm). At least it's not an LCC "Go Big Red" yell. We all have our school thing. I'm just glad that as a freshman I'm allowed to say the word elephant and zips and not be punished by hardcore seniors for saying them. Boomer Sooner. (and I'll keep sayin it)
