Well, the latest news reports from San Antonio show that LCC fans haven't raped and pillaged the city after losing the bowl game they cried, whined, and bought their way into. Amazing.

I have to say...watching LCC lose was about as satisfying as watching A&M and UT win their bowl games. It's a good thing that A&M and UT can do something to bring a little pride to the great state of Texas...whereas Tech either loses their nationally-televised games, or gets negative press coverage thanks to their collectively retarded student body.

Losing to Iowa on national television...hahahahaha....suck my ass, Tech. Fucking assholes. You deserved to lose. From now on, you should just shut the fuck up and do your talking on the football field. You may have made a statement when you beat an injury-plagued A&M team in a home game, but today Iowa shut you up. The only thing more depressing than losing to Iowa would be having to return to the shithole known as Lubbock. Ugh.

I agree with Matt, Applewhite might have had somewhat of a good game, but he was not the better QB that night. I really thought Washington had it with that last TD. Oh yeah y'all might of heard me on 99.5 The Wolf last night. I won Robert Earl Keen, Cross Canadian Ragweed, 1100 Springs... Fat Tuesday Tickets. It was funny b/c I was taking a shower. Now I must pray that my classes do not interfere.

It has been over a week since this message board had been blessed with my presence. That was a joke for those of you who actually think that I am seriously that shallow and conceeded. Well, Billy Bobs was surprisingly fun. The guys felt my arrival and began singing Reckless Kelly's "Crazy Ed." For those of you who do not know that is the song where they are "never gettin' over Jolie." I am sorry for any one that I might have blown off. I kind of blew off one of the guys in the band on accident. There were too many people that I used to know trying to talk to me. I was in A-Town Thursday Night. That place in front of the putt-putt is pretty cool. I don't think it was necessarily the setting. I think its the fact that I went with my cousin and a large group of his fraternity brothers. The whole place was basically just us. There are good times to be had in A-Town. A lot more fun than I ever had in the Flower Mound area.

I mistyped about the two interceptions, that one lateral was his fault, the others weren't. As for Simms, I'm in NO way saying that Simms is better than Applewhite... I agree with all of you that Applewhite is better. Simms main fault is he doesn't check off receivers, which basically means he throws into double coverage or for an interception. I was just commenting on Applewhite's performance last night... I've got no doubts the kid has skills, he just wasn't that great last night -- not near as good as Pickett.

No Matt, the difference is that yea Simms has more skill in accuracy most of the time, *most of the time*. The problem is he fucks up. Doesn't see the things he should be seeing (line backers). That's the difference in a great QB. And if you call a tipped ball for an interception Applewhite's fault, you are on some crack. He threw that one lateral, which was his fault. The other 2 were not.

Does all this really mattyer? Here's what really matters....Tech still sucks ass, anyone can beat Iowa, and the Aggies that played today would have reamed Tech's ass. Go applewhite. Pass out time yo.

Williams won that game for you guys... I hope no one uses that game to hype Applewhite again, because despite what the ESPN announcers would like you to believe, Applewhite was NOT that impressive. I won't mention the INTs (even though 2 were his fault), but as far as the big pass plays went, they were either underthrown or to the wrong side of the receiver. Williams made the plays on those balls, they weren't well thrown. And don't go into that "he put it up there for Williams to get", because he could have easily hit him in stride. A good comparison, since I'm assuming most of you caught the Aggie/TCU game, would be Casey Printers. If Printers had the receivers Texas did tonight, he would have had 5 touchdowns. When you don't have the receivers though, those passes go for incomplete or interceptions.

Pickett was EASILY the better quarterback of the two tonight, despite what the hype would lead you to believe. Excluding that last drive of the game, he played great. Kept the Texas defense on their heels all night long, and leading his team to the potential game winning touchdown. He really impressed me. If only the running back could have downed the ball on the one and taken some clock up to punch in that last Washington score :)

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Go Applewhite!!! He is definately the best QB in Texas (as I have posted before). Kingsbury will put on a nice show tomorrow, but nothing can touch that.

techsux, I would pit my football knowledge against yours anyday. But that does no good. Your argument about how business was so slow was dumb because most people are travelling down there tomorrow. Many more left today. To say business was slow several days before the bowl has absolutely no weight in saying Tech shouldn't be there. Applewhite Simms. Simms Applewhite. I love how they cut to a close-up of Simms after every Applewhite interception. The media won't miss a chance to play up the "big bad QB controversey". Football commentators are about as useful as fireproof matches and inflatable anchors. Nevermind the fact that Applewhite turned around on the next series and threw a 40-yard touchdown pass...let's see some close-ups of blondie and let every geek with internet access vote in an online poll concerning which QB should play.

Not using this as a Slocum-bash, but 6-5 and 7-4 are winning records. You do that over a long term basis, you'll post quite a record, but what do we have to show for it?

That's what I'm talking about. Sure, every QB is going to throw interceptions. But Applewhite can come back with a drive like that.

Let's think about it. Usually, people come early for the game and make a vacation about it. This year's bowl has not brought as many visitors as usual, and thus businesses are complaining. And I was not whining. I was simply pointing out flaws in your argument. So exactly what was so stupid about my comment?

Good game to the aggies. They beat an outmanned TCU team, but proved that they can generate some offense. Thats what happens when you get the tightend involved. And to all of you who bash Slocum, did you see where he is the sixth winningest active coach in Division 1? They showed it on the tv, so unless you attended the game (which might be five of yall) you saw it. Slocum brought dignity back to the a&m program, something Sherril never had.

Just out of curiosity, how is the San Antonio area already complaining considering the game isn't until tomorrow? That has to be one of the stupidest comments ever posted on this messageboard.

It was good to watch the Ags resemble a team with SOME offensive capabilities...but, all in all, it was kind of a boring end to a bland season.
