Inferiority complex? I don't think so. I'm glad Baylor doesn't have much school spirit because its pretty lame. People who obsess over something they don't even participate in is just weird. Now if you excuse me, I have to get back to rolling around in old money.

Yep, I agree. LCC students have an inferiority complex because they realize they are attending a substandard "school" and that the people with ambition and intellect are attending both A&M and UT. So they usually attack people personally. But when Aggies get attacked, they may defend their traditions or the football team, but they don't feel like they have to defend their own intellect...because UT students realize that A&M is a decent educational institution, and vice versa.

Besides, I can list dozens of times when UT fans have personally attacked an Aggie. And dozens of time when Aggies have personally attacked a Longhorn. You can't generalize the behavior of any one school's fans, because within ANY school you will have your polite fans and your moronic fans. LCC excluded.

Here's the thing ... Daisy, you went to Barton Creek Mall, and "of course you were wearing your Maroon Out shirt." I'm from Austin, and I love my city. When I go to college station and wear orange, I'm constantly assaulted. The finger, "fuck you", t-sip, etc etc. They're part of the deal. When I want go around in peace, I choose a neutral color, like blue. That way, no problem. I've spent an insane amount of time in CS, both in orange and in other colors. I've seen no evidence that CS is any better than Atown.

But of course, there's no orange bias from my side, and I'm *sure* that there's no maroon bias from yours, right? Right. :)

I don't buy into the inferiority complex either, and I am hardcore Longhorn. I have many friends at various colleges (I use the term loosely) in Texas, and I can assure you that the inferiority complex is much more prevalent in Lubbock and Waco. If any Aggie did have an inferiority complex, all they would need to do is think about how the LCCers and the Baylor Bears must feel, and that should put an end to it.

i think the difference might be that some ags take things more personally because they feel so close to their school. if someone makes fun of the football team (or some other group/tradition/etc.), they feel like they're being made fun of, too, so they take offense to it. i just don't buy into a perceived hostile inferiority complex that all ags somehow inherently have.

Im not saying that ut fans dont harass a&m fans, the difference i noticed was that the a&m fans attacked me and that guy personally, while we only harassed them for their team. Its a different mentality. Thats where the inferiority complex shines through (people with inferiority complexes tend to attack people personally, its a way making themselves feel better).

I now consider myself "from" Austin, since I pay all my fucking bills and am deemed an independent student. And I love wearing my Maroon Out shirt to class every now and then, and pissing off the UT grads who stayed around for law school here.

So I went shoping at Barton Creek Mall on Friday...of course I was sporting my maroon out shirt....and it just amazes me every time I go home just how RUDE my hometown is!! I had 4 different people yell or gesture something vulgar towards me! Im sorry, ya'll can dis College Station all you want...but we have..BY FAR the most chivalrous population as far as college towns go. OK...sorry had to get that off my chest (lord knows I don't need anything extra in that department...hehe right Brian????) By the way...is there anyone on here actually FROM Austin like me??? So basically the bowl you end up in is not as much a reflection of the accomplishments of your team as it is a reflection of how many tickets you can sell. Man I love college football...

Bowl games don't exist to lose money, and so of course LCC will go to a less prestigious bowl.

Looks like everyone has been having a good time arguing with each other. We have definately had a good time watching all of yall make fools of yourselves arguing over who deserves what more. Reading these posts the last few days have allowed us a nice break to laugh in between studying for finals and trudging through the snow to class.

Now if only we don't get passed over in the bowl selections for less-deserving teams due to their reputation for having a larger fan following...
