Everyone needs to sit back and relax. What's done is done and nothing can be done to change that. The championship will be a great game to watch on Saturday between two very evenly matched teams. Personally, I want Florida to end up in the BCS championship, but I think the unpredictability of college football is super fun too.
UT (I know--I can't believe I just said it) deserves to be in this game on Saturday over OU, and this is why:
OU lost to OSU.
Have you not noticed this? I really don't care who else they beat--OU lost to OSU. Before the OU game, their record was 3-7. This is a football team whose fans admit that they suck. Yes, most OSU students will tell you that their football team sucks--that's ok though because their basketball team will plow you into the ground. They go to the football games because they're fun, but the only game they actually care about is the OU game. Yes, rivalries change things a little, but not THAT much. Besides, by rivalry rules, you have the upper hand when you're in your own stadium. On Saturday, OU was playing in Norman, yet they lost...to OSU.
So...I'm sorry OU, but you lost...stop kveltching (is that a real word? it just sounded appropriate) and enjoy the game this Saturday. UT won their rivalry game against a decent football team in that football team's stadium which has been called like the absolute most intimidating place to play. Yes, you beat them earlier this season, but the rules of figuring out who gets to go to the championship game haven't been changed just to keep you out or anything.
Alrighty--I've said my peace--I still love my Aggies, but I doubt I'll go see them in the Alamobowl (if that's where we go)because I don't like the acoustics in that place. Plus, it's an indoor stadium--that's just not football to me. :(

You know what? It's rather obvious that there are some people out there who can't accept the fact that UT is in, CU is in, and OU and Nebraska aren't. You don't like it? Go talk to CU and OSU, don't sit around and bitch at UT. All UT did was go out on the field and win their games like they were supposed to do. You want to bitch about easy schedules? Don't bitch to UT. And will you finally shut up about that next year when UT heads back up to Nebraska?
UT caught a break, yes. That's why they're in the Championship and OU isn't. But before you start in on how Simms sucks and Applewhite sucks and UT had a cupcake schedule and isn't the caliber team that should be in the Championship game, why don't you wait and see how the game plays out on Saturday night? If you think back, no one at UT has ever made the claim that we had a tough schedule this year. Hell--we know it was a walk in the park compared to the schedules some teams were playing. No one has ever said otherwise, and yet you people keep bringing it up and bringing it up. Now, if we were sitting around barely squeaking out wins against the "easy" teams we were playing, that'd be one thing. But we've been killing every team we've been up against since OU, excepting A&M. And A&M doesn't factor in, because as so many have said, rankings don't mean shit when it comes to rivalries like that.

Well, I agree that it really doesn't matter who "deserves" to be there... I've been saying for weeks that Florida is the best team in the nation (though Miami sure made me take notice against Washington), and now finnaly they'll get to prove it. As for Texas being in the Big 12 championship, honestly, no one cares who the Big 12 South or the Big 12 North champion is. They'll remember who the Big 12 Champion is. Not trying to take anything away from UT, as they've done what they needed to do (although they DID have a cupcake schedule, which is why they were picked to do well this year). They and Oregon have an outside chance of making it to the national championship game, though a lot of things have to happen. Hell Nebraska still has a shot at it. There are still two very open spots for the national title game -- nothing is locked up. Miami has one game to play, Florida one possibly two, Texas one, Tennessee one possibly two, and Oregon one. Things fall the right way, we might end up seeing Nebraska and Florida in the national championship game :)
