Well, by using the "logic" that UT fans were using on this very same message board about 2 months ago, since OU beat UT and Nebraska beat OU, UT is the worst of those 3 teams...but UT will be playing for the Big XII championship. So I guess you are right...UT, in theory the worst of the 3 teams, will be playing in Dallas, but that's all that matters.

Who cares if OU is, in theory, a better team than UT? We're the ones that are going to Texas Stadium next weekend, and isn't that all that really matters?

Okay I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor after Saturday's game. I mean Damn. Not sure who said it but they were right. When it comes down to in-state rivalries, stats, numbers, history doesn't mean shit. OSU found the hole in the OU defense (lack of good coverage in the cornerback position). Just not sure what to say to that. OU is still a better team than UT. That was proven in October. I have been harassed by Longhorn friends this weekend over the loss ranting and raving over being a better team and all. Lucky break is all it was. Where were Simms and Company at Owen Memorial Field Saturday? They were all gung-ho about LCC beating us sitting front row, but OSU...nowhere to be found.
Now I want to see the same Colorado team, fully healed up (they weren't when they played UT the first time) that played Nebraska leave Longhorns as speechless or dazed as they did to Cornhuskers this weekend. That would finally show Simms and fellow butt buddies that they are overrated. I still want to see what this does to the polls tomorrow.

Yeah, I agree... The score in the UT/A&M game is pretty irrelevant to how good either team is. That being said, I don't think any UT fan can really say that their team is the best in the Big 12, or even the Big 12 South. Not saying they aren't a good team, but Texas isn't better than Nebraska or Oklahoma, in my opinion not even in the same league (though few teams are). Big 12 title game should be interesting... Texas sure isn't playing the same Colorado team they played before. How about them buffs coming in under the radar though. Anywhere from 10 weeks ago to a week ago, if you were asked who would win the Big 12 North, most would say Nebraska without even thinking about it.

Yeah, and OU/Nebraska game would've been nice, but neither team earned the right to play in the championship. In addition, OU and Nebraska already got to play when both teams were undefeated. Sure, it would be nice if OU got the chance to avenge its loss to Nebrasks, but with the current game, CU gets a chance to avenge a big loss to Texas earlier in the season.

Yeah, this'll be a disappointing championship game, what with UT and CU with absolutely no national title hopes, right? I think it's going to be a good game. Simms should do well, but the only reason I say that Applewhite may get playing time is if Simms' mental game isn't quite up to staying in the entire time. That said, I think he'd a different QB under pressure situations than the one we saw during the OU game.

What a game would OU Nebraska in the Big XII Championship game be. Both searching for the National Title, both being ranked number one in the polls during the season, the broken rivalry between the 2 teams due to the formation of the Big XII... You can't get a more exciting game. Everyone would be interested in that game due to the rivalry and the National Title being on the line. Who cares about CU tu, besides the Big XII? Even being in the Big XII I do not have much interest in the game. I think it would be exciting to see CU Kick tu's ass like they did Nebraska. I think it would also be cool for tu to win, b/c I have this little crush on Simms. Simms is a good quarterback although he is still fighting the whole pressure thing. Y'all are looking good for next season with Simms in.

simms is a better qb than applewhite is. He doesnt have quite the mental game yet, but he is much more talented.

i jumped on the simms bandwagon a while back, and if his stats, especially since the ou game, dont convince you otherwise, go cheer for another team.

it wasnt entirely the wrecked crew defense that shut down the ut offense. The wind played a huge factor in all aspects of the game. The kicking game and passing game suffered greatly for both teams.

I think ut matches up better against colorado than nebraska does. Nebraska had a good run defense, although cu torched em. We know how to play and beat the buffs, and I think both teams are riding high from the events of this weekend.

Every team has its test game, the one where they dont perform. If they can pull those out, then they are a great team. look at ou last year, in the games against fsu and osu. Both times they were stifled and challenged, but they managed to win. Great teams find a way to win. Im not saying ut is great yet, but they have a chance to prove themselves next week. With a little help from tennessee, fsu, or vt, who knows.
