I'd just like to say that I like the Tap. It never looked like a fun place from the outside, but it is, and I like it. I like it a lot. My gang and I will be frequenting that establishment from now on on Thursday nights, so if you're looking for me or looking to avoid me (um, ahem)--not that anyone would ever want to avoid me :) --that's where we'll be! There are some mighty fine boys there, and Bobby even likes the place now that someone turned him into a frat boy. :) So, if anyone was wondering where the cute guys are on Thursday nights, apparently, they are all at the Tap. There are lots and lots there--really, they're very good looking.
Oh, and the Peanut Festival I went to was in Floresville which is near San Antonio. Floresville is a fantabulous place, but alas it is not the Tap. :)
Oh, and I'm not the least bit intoxicated, so this isn't drunken rambling. I really like the Tap. :) Side note--it is so incredibly cold at my house!! I wish I could find my sweat pants! :(

Speaking of God, I saw an interesting video clip on Austin public access yesterday of one of those campus preachers. Now, usually I get annoyed with those campus preachers because it seems like they go out of their way to cram one viewpoint down everyone's throat, and they have no respect for a plurality or diversity of opinion on an issue. But this particular clip showed the preacher engaging in a debate with someone over the "proof" of the existance of a God. The person in the audience was asking the preacher to "show him one shred of proof that God exists". I was thinking....good question. And then the preacher answered by asking him if he could "prove" that someone had a rational mind. The only "proof" we have of someone possessing a rational mind is through their behavior and through their speech. His point was that you can't really "prove" much of anything, you can only point to evidence of it's existance and then infer it's existance. Whether you think the evidence of a God is reliable or not, it exists nonetheless...and thus, the preacher said he relies on that evidence to support the existance of a God.
He also argued for the existance of a God because of the complexity of humans and of the universe, and the infinitely small chance that it all came about by mere random chance. Again, the evidence (the complexity of humans) points to the existance of a God and/or an intelligent creator. It's like saying that the computer I'm typing on just appeared by chance and happened to be constructed without the aid of an intelligent being.
Quite interesting arguments for the existance of a God or of an intelligent creator. I'm not saying he was right or wrong. My point is that, for once, a campus preacher was using logic and rationale instead of emotion and scare tactics.
Ok, sorry for the religious/philosophical tangent. Uhhhh....who's getting drunk tonight?

All -
See, I'm guilty of doing the same thing that I hate in other people - going to extremes. Nothing is as black and white as I would like us to believe. Especially in terms of the UT-A&M game. Of course I'm not going to predict a win for the Ag's because of our starting QB or the mythical homefield advantage, or anything, really. I like our team on paper, I like our team on the field, I like our team all the way around. My comments stand for the people who were talking about us losing to CU - no way in hell. As for A&M, it's going to be close, no doubt about it. Each team has tendencies that the other team is well prepared to exploit - A&M struggles on offense at times, while Simms has been known to turn colorblind for no apparent reason. In addition, Kyle is a tough place to play. My honest prediction is UT 27, A&M 17.
Can't we all just get along? And Bluto, please, please, pleeeeeeease, beat Tech this year, ok?
