Dude...drunk story 6...99% of Aggies knew the 5-0 start was because we played pussy teams....and 99% of Aggies now know that the rest of the season will be tough. Aggies aren't pretending to be an awesome, powerful team.

If you'll read my previous posts, you'll find me predicting a loss to Colorado, Kansas State, and Oklahoma... And possibly one against Tech. Based on that, I don't think you can group me with the people in College Station who thought this was a legit 5-0 team.

Here's the thing, Matt - we may not be as good as the media thinks we are (and I for one never predicted a nat champ, or any other silly thing), but you guys are not as good as five wins over the sisters of charity would have all of College Station believe, either.

So forgive me if I'm not scared of Mark "The human pez dispenser" Farris.

Casey:

They are called picks for a reason. If every game ever played was based on stats, what would be the point of playing? It is not so much team spirit as it is who shows up for what game. You can pretty much throw out the records for UT/A&M game every year, and like I said previously, ya'll aren't as good as all the hype has made you out to be. Oklahoma's defense was not that good, but they still made you look like grade schoolers. Simms is no Heisman, he proved against OU that he can single handedly cost his team a ballgame. If the spot-on Simms shows up for the game, ya'll would probably win, but he won't, and you won't win. I make my college income off of picking sporting events, and trust me -- stats don't account for much.

Petus: I honestly don't think we'll have any problems beating up a UT team here in College Station. Ya'll aren't as good as all the hype wants you to believe.

Using some of the warped logic prevalent on this message board...

Last year, Texas A&M lost to Oklahoma by the score of 35-31 and UT lost to Oklahoma by the score of 63-14....THEREFORE, A&M was a better team last year.

See, statistics can prove anything. So the whole "We beat 'Team A' who then THUMPED 'Quality Team B'....so we must kick ass" line of reasoning makes no sense. There are about a million other variables.

I wonder who actually makes these "drinking" statistics that Tech fans throw out. Of course, they probably do drink more, but if I was going to a Tier 3 school, I could easily graduate and be drunk all the time.

More reasons to post at Tamut.com - wasting time at work. Should be the national pastime.

CU @ UT - UT by 17
A&M @ KSU - KSU by 3

The rest don't matter.

Okay guys, I just have to mention this. I was on the ESPN Big XII message board the other night battling it out with two aggies and some tech fan shows up and says that A&M and UT girls are fat and ugly and that he'd rather do a cow. I quickly responded that it was only because once you go beef, you never go back. He proceeded to throw out some statistics about how tech students drink more than A&M and UT students (as if that had anything to do with the conversation), and then got pissed and left. Yeah, those LCC fans never learn. You just can't outsmart us Longhorns and Aggies.

I really like how people just blithely pass off UT as easily as one would swat a fly from one's shoulder. Apparently, if we aren't a top-3 team, we aren't a top 15 team either. So let's see, just real quicklike. We beat a UNC team 41-7 who then proceeded to THUMP FSU (granted, FSU is down, but it's still a quality win), as well as win it's last 4 games. We beat Tech like stepchildren, who then proceeded to beat KSt. We lost by 11 points to the #3 team in the nation, defending national champions with a 18 game winning streak - hardly an upset, and as damn fine a football game as I've seen this year. We then came out the next week and showed no signs of letdown, cruising to an asswhupping of lowly OSU. Kst and CU have shown themselves to be tough, but I see no reason for everyone to be predicting a UT home loss this weekend.

So blow me. All of you. Get the fuck off my bandwagon. UT is a legit top-10 team, and we're going to play like it this weekend. UT 35, CU 17.

And while I'm at it, you people who pass off the UT game in Kyle as an easy win because "Major isn't starting" or because "ya'll own UT at home" can blow me as well. Just keep thinking that you have a chance. Go on. Please. Cause you're right - Simms hasn't done shit this year, and didn't do shit against your team last year, either.

And yes, I wish someone would take a shot at Musberger or at least maim him badly enough to end his broadcasting career. I don't know whose dick he sucked to get that job.

I seem to remember our entire secondary being injured for the Texas game last year. I'm sure that didn't have any effect on the outcome of the game.

I have to agree with that one... you guys claim that because the UT-A&M game is at Kyle field this year you'll more or less automatically kick our asses. Yet you were a mere six points away from losing to Baylor (which is worse than losing to Tech) at Kyle. Now, granted, Simms could have a rough game, but much as I don't like him, he's improving more and more as the season goes on. I think the game is going to be tough to call... I'm saving my energy on the subject for just before the game when all hell breaks loose.

"Like I said before, we'll beat Iowa State, we'll beat Texas, and the Tech game the verdict is still out on."

HA! That's rich, dude. You astutely pointed out that the aggies barely beat Baylor at Kyle Field, and then you claim that you'll beat Texas, while the Tech game is still undecided. Better get some decent resources, because you're likely getting screwed in pick 'em. I can see how you could derive justification in your UT/A&M prediction since you squeaked by a VERY tough Baylor squad at home, but let's get serious for a moment. Texas is decidedly not Baylor, and even more decidedly not LCC. Do the numbers 42-7 mean anything to you? And Chris Simms is far better this year than he was when he roasted the Wrecking Crew for 234 yards and 3 TDs in the third freaking quarter last year. Team spirit is one thing, but unadulterated bias is entirely another.

Oh, and I'm already asking God to kill Brent "I Hate the Aggies and Blatantly Show It" Musberger before the A&M-UT game. If I have to listen to Brent's homo-erotic praising of Simms' every move, I'm gonna go postal. I swear, listening to the game last year, you'd have thought Musberger was waiting in the parking lot after the game with a hard-on and a dozen roses to profess his love to Simms.

Ya know, in regards to the A&M-UT rivalry...regardless of who "owns" whom for the last 5 years, or the last 10 years, or the last 90 fucking years...all it really matters is who plays better and who is leading when the clock hits 00:00 THIS YEAR. There is a little disclaimer they put at the bottom of every stock, bond, and mutual fund advertisement: "Past performance is no guarantee of future returns".

I think the A&M-UT game will be too close to call. UT is ranked better, but the game is at Kyle Field. A&M's offense seems to be manic-depressive this season, so it's anybody's guess as to how well they will play. Should be a good one....but 50-10? C'mon, get real. I don't think the Aggies have been blown out at Kyle Field by a margin like that for God knows how long. Unless fairy boy Simms sells his soul to the Devil, he won't get nearly as lucky as last year. If Major starts at QB (excuse me while I laugh at the astronomical odds of that) then it might be a different story. All in all though, I think it'll be a great game, but unless something goes horribly wrong, predictions of a blowout are just hype and nothing more.

Yeah, I can't really figure out why they needed to follow around a guy and his skanky female companions.

I flipped the ESPN late one night and wasn't sure what I was watching. It was some guy in a prison shirt following around his drunken friends to Denny's and then home. Was just blabbing on and on about how he takes cares of his drunken friends. I wasn't sure where it was or what the hell it was. Then in the background while he's driving I see a Freebird's Sign. That's when I changed the channel with the thought (Okay ESPN just wasted my time with this shit)

you're right. there were decades when you almost swept us. in fact, think for about 30 years somewhere we only won like 4 games against you. be that as it may, we have still owned you since i have been alive and that is good enough for me. as for sidelines, it is the biggest piece of steaming horse shit that i've ever seen.

Well, matt i think applied the transitive property to his logic earlier in the posts about the ou-k st-m&a triangle (kst loses by 1, ou much better than m&a, therefore m&a loses). You can get as selective as you want about the dates (we own m&a), but there were decades in which we almost swept you. This year we are a better team than we were last year, and we torched you guys last year. So I applied the same logic as matt (i think it was him) to show him that you will lose to us. Anyways, i still stand by my prediction of 50-10.

yeah, ut did completely own the series until about 1975 when we started kicking your ass more often than not. and about us being worse than lcc if we lose to k-state, i don't think the transitive property applies to sporting events.
