Whoops, anonymity.

Hey, don't blame anoymity, I would've told that to your face. If you want to talk about "fuck-head" comments (that's not name calling?) go bark up Ricky Cates' tree. And cut it down afterwards.

alright then, matt, you have a task.

JOSH  - Texas A&M

Who is Jon again? I know he is the model that is totally kool and recommends romp.com (which is totally cool; Player Jake is the man; that site rules). But what is his relation to the masters Matt and Brian?

Kelly ®  - UT Austin

Haha, I would, Josh, but I really don't keep in touch with her. I saw her on campus once this year and said "hi", but that's pretty much it. I dont' think my friend is in touch with her either... Matt'd probably be a much bigger help.

And Bluto, thanks--maybe I should run a daily texan ad with that in it! Of course, doing that might push me into the insane category.

Bluto ®  - UT Austin

I know Kelly, I know. That's why it's amazing you are single. You seem to be the 1 in 100 that is not insane. That's a hot commodity.

josh  - UT Austin

Kelly, hook a brother up.

Hey, not all of us do that. Some of us are secure enough not to.

Goddammit, I swear to God, why do women make stupid-ass, irrational assumptions in a relationship when she doesn't know all (or any) of the facts?? This is the third chick I have dumped in the last 3 months because of that.

Thursday Jan 16th 3:51pm
Kelly ®  - UT Austin

Josh, I know that girl. She was a friend of mine's roommate freshman year.

Thursday Jan 16th 3:48pm
josh  - UT Austin

Ok. I'll grant that he has more that he wants to achieve, no problem. Of course, if he hated it here, he wouldn't be staying, so we can't be doing that badly on the personal front.

It's an equally asinine assumption to make that he's staying "just for the money" as it is to say "he loves austin." The reality is somewhere in the middle.

I love the internet. Name calling and fuck-head comments just go hand in hand with anonymity.

"He's the #1 one reciever for a badass team living in a badass city, with a badass future." You stupid putz. He doesn't give two shits about Texas or Austin. He's there to try and win a Heiseman (sp?), go first in the draft and come out with a bigger signing bonus and fatter contract than if he went out now. Don't be an idiot orangeblood who claims he's staying cause he loooooves UT so much. It's all about the money.

josh  - UT Austin

Matt - the chick on the viewers far right of the picture on the homepage - she looks like she needs to meet a UT grad who still lives in austin ... perhaps one that even works at Dell? Hmmm, who could fit that bill ... hmmm. Oh yea - ME.

And none of this vitriol for Rashaun Woods? I call bullshit.

Roy is staying because he knows that the money will be there next year. Hell, he was hurt for 1/4 of this season, and is still projected as a top-20 pick. He can do that next year in his sleep. If (god forbid) he DOES get hurt, he's got the insurance.

Why is it so hard for some people to understand that the kid LIKES it at Texas? He's the #1 reciever for a badass team living in a badass city, with a badass future. One more year of being a kid won't hurt a soul - and it will certaily help our team.

Thursday Jan 16th 12:08pm
Jake  - UT Austin

Objectively, Roy Williams is an idiot.

He's not staying at UT for his sociology degree. He's says he's staying to play football, even though he could start on any nfl team.

He says the money doesnt matter. Then he takes out a 3m insurance policy. He is finally healthy, after a career of periodic injuries.

In the big scheme of things, lifetime financial security is better than a Bielitnikoff award. Look at Rex Grossman, Roy.

Whatever its his life. Hope you stay healthy next year. Our team depends on you.

But brian, think of the example that sets for all those other math students who, although very talented, just can't handle many-space diagrams in their heads? They end up waiting in the wings, shamed into using their calculators in the back of the room, doomed to a lifetime of B's and C's in an A-class world. It's a travesty, really.

I think people need to realize that each professional sport is unique in the athletic talent, maturity, and intelligence required. Professional basketball is one of the few pro sports where an extremely talented high school player can just hop in and learn the ropes. In baseball, players have to spend at least a few years in the minors before they are even ready to complete on the MLB level. In football, high school kids would get killed making the jump to the NFL (hence the age requirement). Sure, if I am an NBA GM, I'd rather have a great athlete after four years under Coach K than a great athlete straight out of high school, but when you are throwing millions of dollars at kids, they're not going to pass on it. A good real world analogy is a young math genius. If this math genius is already prepared for graduate work, then why should he go through the undergraduate courses? Just to gain experience? Sure, the graduate work might be a big leap, but if he can make it, then why not?

It's sudden death OT and you win the coin toss. The score is tied
7-7 and it has been a defensive game through 4 quarters. You drive to the opposing team's 40 and are forced with a tough decision. Do you attempt the 58 yard field goal, throw a pass, or pin them deep in their zone with a punt? Well, if you have Shane Lechler of the Oakland Raiders (formerly of Texas A&M), you punt out of bounds and pin them at the 1/2 yard marker. Amazing you say? Well, he did it. On the very next play, you run a nickel defense with a safety blitz. Safety! You win the game by 2 in overtime.

God I love NFL 2K3.

Damn, they found the vials of Bubonic Plague, i was hoping they would turn up in College Station, broken, in the cafeteria, next to the chicken.

bab - as far as lebron goes, he won't be sitting the bench for two years. The others, yes.

Ashley - don't cry for Kwame. Like I said, he got his shot, and that's all he asks for. If he's got those problems, someone should have been telling him that from the beginning. Plus, if the talent is there, it will come out. May take a few years, but it will. There were people who were saying that Kobe wasn't ready out of HS, too, and maybe he wasn't. But he's ready now.
