I am in Austin, and I wanna get drunk. My ungodly semester is finally over. I am heading to a place called Common Interest on N. Burnet Rd. tonight. It's a karaoke bar, but my friends said they have lots of booze too, so it's all good. I will just point and laugh at everyone.

I think that over the course of the semester, I've accumulated about $15 in pennies in my room and my car. Eventually, I'm going to round them all up, put them in rolls, and take them to the bank. For now, however, I'm just staring at the various piles thinking about how I could be eating dinner or drinking if they weren't all pennies.

Most of my friends already took off, and the ones that are left are sleeping or spending one last night of "quality" time with their girlfriends/boyfriends. I can't argue with that.

Could have been shittier... see the front page of tamut regarding Chris's birthday. Freshman year, I had 2 finals on my birthday. Sometimes you just can't win.

And it figures--I finished finals this morning, and now I'm all set to just blow everything off and relax or get drunk or something, and everone's either already out of town or asleep. Lovely.

A&M and UT start on the same date (Jan. 13), have the same breaks (MLK and Spring Break), plus I think A&M gets Good Friday off? Correct me if I'm wrong--anyway, and A&M's last day of finals is May 7. Ours is May 13. Both have the same number of dead days. The only saving grace to that is that I turn 21 on May 14--talk about timing. :)

Well, since A&M didn't start until after Labor Day, they're a few days behind us this semester. Baylor is the only other school I have friends at who aren't done yet.

Recruiting inhouse in Texas really isn't uncommon or even that bad. Texas A&M has typically filled it's roster with over 90% Texans and likewise can be said for UT. If the state only had one major college to get all the stud instate recruits, it'd finish in the top ten every season.

is it just me, or are other schools getting out late? my friends all just now finished finals, and from what i remember, we usually got out a few days after them.

Also A&M's signing class should prove interesting. And I'm not sure if it's good or bad that the only people to be recruited are from Texas. Either the A&M scouts aren't as national as they could be or everyone who had offers from out of state decided they would stick close to home.
