I'm glad to see you thinking in one year increments because it occurs to me that OU under Stoops has beaten A&M,Texas,&Tech 3 out of 4 years he's had his job. And the losses to UT and Tech happened his first year. Mike Leach of Tech hasn't beaten Stoops. And OSU hadn't beaten Stoops until Les Miles took over the program. So hold onto your only decent win this season because until Fran has his "one rebuilding year" the first real shot at OU will be on Kyle Field in 2004.

i don't agree with a coach leaving his squad and not talking with them about it in person, but i think the pressure from the media and the locals in tuscaloosa could definitely be overwhelming in such a situation. there's little they care about more than alabama football, and if you cross that love, they don't hesitate to pull out the noose.

Yeah, the bottom line: Keep on bragging about that wonderful OU football squad. (The one that we beat). Because compared to A&M and Texas, all you have is your football squad.

Oh well. Yes we choked and got completely torched by Reggie McNeal and the Aggies as well as the Cowboys. Just as the Longhorns did AGAIN this year to us, and against Texas Tech. I hate people who are already criticizing Franchione. We've gone over this before people....They are already on NCAA probation with more violations pending...they didn't tell him about these violations before he signed his contract there....they screwed him, he screws them...everyone here would do the same damn thing....he is looking for a program to retire at or one he can step to the NFL from...I would bet anything that he was planning at staying at Alabama, but the sanctions changed his decision...he now has a big program and I bet he will be here until he retires, or leaves for the NFL.

p.s. by the way, New Mexico St, SWT, and TCU are not big programs, so you cannot say he is Nomadic by wandering from school to school....he got his big job at Alabama, but they fucked up, so he fucked them - just that simple.

I know people are saying a lot about Coach Fran's nomadic ways, but the schools that he coached at previously (with the exception of Alabama) are not schools that a talented coach sticks around for a while. He probably would've stayed at Alabama if they had been more upfront about the pending NCAA investigations.
