Yeah, Ohio State doesn't have nearly the schedule that Miami has, but the Buckeyes are 2nd in the BCS right now. If they win out, the worst they finish is third. If they lose, Iowa goes to the Rose Bowl, and Texas, assuming they don't get to the Fiesta Bowl, will fight with Ohio State to play Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Given our proximity to New Orleans, and the fact that no other Texas team has a shot at a BCS bowl, meaning huge TV markets, I don't think the committee would give it to Ohio State. But I'm hoping that both OSU and Miami lose so that Texas can play OU for the national championship. How cool would that be?

The team received two years probation and the loss of one scholarship for next season, but post-season play will not be affected.
Apparently, a former assistant coach left the team to take a $40,000 per year job at a beer distributorship owned by a former member of the UT Board of Regents, and it was Augie Garrido who recommended the coach for the job. However, the coach continued to work for the team in a voluntary capacity and even made recruiting trips in place of Garrido, which is a no-no. As it turned out, the guy was doing very little work for the distributorship but was being paid anyway, so that he could spend more time with the baseball team, seemingly as a favor to Garrido. Hence, the cloud of suspicion. I don't see this a major violation, but whatever. The punishment is fair.

One of our assistant coaches was employed by a local beer brewer/distributor (I'm not sure which), which had ties to the baseball team - alumni, family or somesuch, again, not totally sure on the details. This coach apparently didn't actually show up for work when he was scheduled, instead using that time to recruit in Augie Garrido's place, since Augie's back was injured. Thus, he was being paid by a job while not there and at the same time benefitting the UT baseball team. It was a pretty stupid situation on the part of the coaches, not keeping tabs on him.
The report from the NCAA did make a special note that (paraphrase) "this is a special situation in that it does not involve any impropriety with recruiting, benefits or compenstation to present or past student-athletes." In other words, our administration processes suck, but our program is clean.
Punishment was the loss of one scholarship, one coach (augie) can't recruit off-campus until July of next year, and we're on a two-year probabtion for future offenses. I think the punishment fit the crime well. I hate that we cheated - and the coaches have admitted as much, but I don't think it taints the championship, since the cheating didn't involve players. Only one player on the team was recruited AT ALL by this coach, and that player didn't play much.
