your last name is Gonzales, you can just get your 6 kids to do it.

so tonight i was at Market Platz listening to some high school punk bands. on the sidewalk, sitting on my bike. cop rides up to me (on the sidewalk) and says "you know the rule about bikes on sidewalks?" i just kinda smile and point to his bike. yadda yadda yadda...argument ensues, and i get a "warning. next time it's a ticket". dumb cop thinks he can keep up with me on a bike? ha.

Q: Why do they schedule the A&M-UT game at 11am every year?
A: Television, television, television, television

I'm from Palestine. Of course, my sister was the one driving on our little trip to Arlington, so that could explain why it took so long. She follows directions about as well as Lee Corso follows college football.

Speaking of college football and Thanksgiving weekend, can someone tell me why they schedule the A&M game at 11 a.m.? Now I have to drive back to Austin Thursday night. Oh well. I have this funny feeling it'll be worth it. :)

I'm flying home for Thanksgiving this year to avoid that Sunday... anytime you wind up with kids from Baylor, SWT, UT, A&M, Trinity, St. Mary's, etc. clogging up 35 all at once, you'd better figure out an alternative... it took me 6 1/2 hours to get to Austin from Arlington my freshman year...

With the exception of the Sunday after Thanksgiving, it takes no more than 2 hours and 45 minutes to get from Arlington to CS.

exactly what town is this? if you live much north of b/cs and it takes you over 2 hours to get to arlington you are taking a major scenic route.

BTW, my hometown is about 1.5 hours north of College Station, and from there, it takes me 3 hours to get to Arlington, so how the hell do you get there in 2.5 hours from CS?

Actually, my friend is married, so I'll take her word for it. I've never lived in College Station, so I won't comment on what it's like to live there, but I've been there more times than I care to think about, and I wasn't terribly impressed. That's not a knock against Texas A&M, so don't get offended. But for someone who lives in Austin, College Station, as a town, isn't much to get excited about. That's all I'm saying.

2.5 hours to SA, 2.5 to Arlington, 1.25 to Houston, 1.65 to Austin....anyway....decimals are fun

It takes me 3 hrs. to drive from College Station to south San Antontio.

I wouldn't call that a long drive, considering that I have to drive for almost 6 hrs. just to get home.

The good thing is that there's scenery on the way down to S.A. It kinda' helps pass the time a whole lot better.

College Station is a great college town, but once you hit age 23 or 24 you're ready for a more diverse nightlife other than "Which one of the 12 bars with cedar tables and $1 pints do we want to go to tonight?"

Y'all need to explain something to me. Last night.

Maybe your friend needs to stop personifying cities for her companionship and go out and get laid? ;)

Halfway between Austin and Houston I can almost see, but San Antonio is a good 4 hours southwest of College Station. But still, this is Texas we're talking about. Halfway between any of two major cities (and no, College Station does not count as a major city) is still a hell of a long way.

I realize that CS is not Lubbock, but really, if you've been to College Station once, you've been there a thousand times. One of my best friends just graduated from A&M and now works in Austin, and she says living in College Station is like a marriage: the first year is great, the second year isn't bad, but after that, things really start to slow down.

Could someone explain to me how College Station is right in the middle of SA and Houston? That's like saying Lubbock is in the middle of Austin and Dallas......

Hold on....

Now I know College Station is no Austin, but quit talking about it like it's Lubbock or something. And anyway, I've been to Oklahoma and it's no utopia. Really College Station isn't a horrible place to live...sits right between Houston, Austin, San Antonio. Not terribly far from the gulf or Casinos. Doesn't smell like ca-ca driving through town....

Plus, for poor college kids like me, it helps that College Station has the lowest cost of living in Texas. 2nd lowest crime rate too (mind you---I said College Station, not Bryan!!).

hehehe. for real.

44 days until we get to sweat our asses off watching the Horns battle a brutal North Texas squad at DKR. I can't wait.

No, no. I meant that wouldn't OU Architecture Guy be able to establish residency in Oklahoma after a year, thus enabling him to attend as a resident...

Give me some credit--why would I even suggest that someone voluntarily take up residency in College Station?
