First of all, going up four points is all relative. If you've got a stock worth 5 bucks then that's a nice return and you should sell that shit now. I'm assuming you're stock is more in the 50+ range though. In that case I'm going to tell you exactly what you don't want to hear: there is no rule on when to sell. The ideal is to buy and hold. "Playing" the market, especially a bear market, is not a good idea. So it all depends on the individual company. If you think the numbers are sound and the company will maintain it's growth, keep it. If not, then take your profits. That's just the tip of the iceberg of my thoughts on the subject, for more and better tidbits of knowledge got to The Motley Fool. In particular the The Fool's School.

One of you blokes must know something about stocks... So I guess I'll ask here. I bought some shares of a pretty well-known company that I thought had a pretty good outlook, and the stock has gone up about 4 points or so since I bought it. My question is, how does one determine the best time to sell the stock? Obviously it is not going to continue to rise forever, so what signs do I look for on when to dump it? And please no comments about the uneducated playing the stock market -- it's money I'm OK with losing, and I need something to feed my gambling habit until baseball starts up... These damn college kids are always on the take.

If you have an ID from one of the guys who got arrested, just cut it up, burn it, or whatever. Without any evidence, the cops would have no case. You could just say you have no idea how your name got on some dude's computer...

Along the ID guy getting arrested... a Pi Kappa Phi guy here in San Marcos got arrested too. He's in jail and the police have his hard drive and are looking for the people who he had made IDs for. If you bought an ID for a Pi Kapp at SWT, you might wanna skip it to Mexico. This guys IDs have been all over Texas.

The other day I was going in there to park for my class, and I was almost given a citation for having my stereo up too loud (I had to have my window open to get the ticket thing, and I don't have a system). They are anal.

Hey Betik--thanks for inviting us over last night. It was fun while it lasted...you know how I was going to go to my friend's house and get important things done? Well, instead I went home, ate, then decided to just stay home and sleep because I was so extremely tired!! See--that shows you're old--at least I'm not as old as that class of '96 guy though. :)

The guy who got a arrested for making fake ID's is from Plano. Supposedly he has a really poor work ethic and probably has been in jail before and more than likely will return to do the same things he did before when he gets out.

God i hate college station. I live in austin now but i grew up and went to a&m consolidated high school in CS. Im so glad i got out of there. There is nothing to do there except hit a bar. No good music. The place is totally lame unless you are a student.

I've reached the age where I can tell the difference between types of beer, yet old enough to where I get no money from my parents to always spend on beer, so I'm stuck in the dilemma of quality vs. quantity.
